No way!

As someone who has actually done experiments involving shocking people (at University) I would have to say no. It's not a good motivator. Well, it probably is a great motivator to take the thing off.

Wow. I didn't click on the link, but if that's real... just wow. I would never buy such a thing. I want exercise to be as pleasant and enjoyable as I can while pushing myself at the same time, not something I fear an electric shock from if I refrain from it for a certain time period.

That's crazy. I do get a kick out of the fitbit buzz when you reach 10,000.

If I did have one and it started shocking me, I'd just take it off. I mean...who wouldn't take something off if it was shocking them?!

Our society is so desperate to lose weight without having to work at it, that most of us try at least one crazy thing at some point!

No Way...Just saw a TV commercial for a new plastic looking waist gadget that you wear. It's supposed to replace gastric surgery. Sounds way to fishy to me. Why not wear a straight
jacket or solder up your pantry?

Nope. No way no how would I purchase a device that uses shock to induce me to keep exercising. We want exercise to be a POSITIVE experience, not a negative one.

zapping someone will not induce them to work a bit harder. It's just a matter of time before they get so fed up with the device that they chuck it out.

Positive reinforcement works better than negative reinforcement.

Oy. I do like Sheryl's idea though . A couch that became uncomfortable after you had been sitting for more than two hours? I would go for that.

that will really help when you get a stitch in your side or a cramp in your leg.

Funny, I was just thinking to myself how much more enjoyable my jogging would be if done under threat of electrocution.

It's a shame that they wasted all that creativity and innovation on something that punishes when instead they could have made something that says, "Oh, come on. You already did 8000 steps today; just 2000 more and you'll hit your goal! 2000 is nothing! Come on, let's go!"

Don't shock or nag; cajole! How cool a name would that be-- The Cajoler 1000.

I would prefer a sofa that delivers a SHOCKING reminder if you've been sitting more than 2 hours.

New Fitness Bracelet Delivers Electric Shock if You Don't Work Out:

Do you like jogging, but wish it was a little more like a Saw movie and/or dystopian nightmare in which thigh gaps have become the global currency? Well, today in horrible ideas: A new wearable fitness tracker that actually zaps users with an electric shock if they stop exercising will be hitting the market later this year.
