I think that is a good lesson for me to learn here. I may have been putting it off because it isn't a task I like doing. I need to figure out how to break this sort of thing into chunks - I can do that with my "normal" work/research tasks, but seem a little overwhelmed when it comes to the business task side of things. Thanks for your idea. In the back of my mind, I know that is what I should be doing, but somehow am not making it work. Thanks for the reminder! I will at least do that today - write a to do list that is not "finish the progress report" but finish elements of it step by step.

Thanks for your thoughts. Actually, my colleague is quite willing to help and give advice, but for some reason I was neglecting to use her advice until yesterday. I think the "get it over with" attitude is what might get me through it! Thanks!

Little steps is exactly what I'd do when faced with a large unpleasant task. For example, in university, I hated writing papers and knew I wasn't one of those people who pull an all nighter and write the whole thing in one go, so I'd start as soon as it was assigned and write just a paragraph or 2 every night.

This is just my opinion but I think the fact that you are concerned about this happening it probably won't. Eventually you will be finished with this task and can move on. If you feel like your colleague isn't participating enough you can either ask for help or just do it yourself to get it over with. Good luck!

This may seem a bit funny, but because I am feeling unmotivated doing a particular task for work (creating a progress report for a colleague and myself to give a client) it is making me feel less motivated overall. YET, I am still achieving my Spark goals and following my plan. I just would like to feel better about it all the time. When I think about the Spark goals, I can say I am ACTING motivated, but overall I'm feeling a little down because of the other area of my life that is more challenging. I did reach out to my colleague today to say, "Ok this is what I have so far, what are your thoughts" so I hope that the "little steps" planning of Spark is rubbing off, but I am struggling to take the next little step for that project. I am hoping that it doesn't rub off the opposite way and slow my Spark progress!!
