I think it depends on your fitness level.

I have wii fit and I have been pretty sedentary for the last few years so the step class, hula hoop, cycling and jogging were a pretty good workout for me.

But, as with everything you get out of it what you put into it and as you advance I imagine you could grow out of it and need something more challenging and it maybe more of a "game" or
"just for fun" but even then your still being active and that's exercise in my book!

I've never used the Biggest Loser game before but I bet it is a great weight loss tool.

It may be great for some but I am with the majority here... Aside from the advanced step and hula hoop, there isn't much calorie burn going on. It is still better than sitting and playing Mario Kart (my fav, lol). BUT There are games that you can use the board . Someone mentione the Personal Trainer... I used to do The Biggest Loser for Wii. THAT was a workout! I haven't tried Zumba or some of the other most recents.

I've just started using the Wii Fit for various reasons- more info on my Sparkpage.
At the moment I do Zunba and My Fitness Coach and love them both. I've got really good, hard workouts using them both.
I'm looking to add some more "games" to my Wii collection this coming week.

Too time consuming for me. By the time I put on the TV and then the Wii and then calibrate and bla bbah.. It is good to get the kids going but not something I turn to. I use Spark videos it is quicker.

I have lost 12 pounds and counting from using Wii Fit!!!!!! I totall;y disagree with the previous is definitely not for couch potatoes.

I"m with the others on the using it for a scale.. it is also fun to play as a family.. but mainly I think it is for the couch potatoes (no offense I'm one) to help us get started to move but once you start and get regular you see you need to venture off to the other exercises like walking outside or on the treadmill.. I think it is also great to use when it's raining .. to keep you moving and motivated.. just look at it as a learning tool.. I also love it for the yoga moves!

I stick to the aerobic exercises on there, mainly the free jogging. I'm too self conscious at the moment to go out jogging, so it means I can stay at home and do it. Zumba for the wii is really good too.

I have used it for 'exercise' but didn't see as much results as when I use my treadmill. The most effective ones i've noticed on it though was the hula hoops and the rhythm steps. But like you said I do it mainly because its fun :) We just got the zumba for the wii and its kicking my butt currently haha good luck to you!

I've had a Wii Fit for well over a year now. I use it as a scale mostly. Occasionally I play the games or do yoga. It's a fun game but it's not "real" exercise for me.

My husband got me the Wii Fit Plus for a Christmas gift. We already had the Wii for a couple years, and had thought about purchasing the Wii Fit, but never had. Anyway, I've set it up and tried it out, but I'm wondering if anyone has really used it for serious fitness, or if I should view it as more of a "fun", game type thing? I mean the balance/aerobic games are fun to play, but you would have to play each game for an hour to burn enough calories to make a difference, and that does not seem realistic. I have not spent much time yet with the "personal training" option, but I was wondering if anyone else has, and whether or not this was really beneficial to them. My family is having fun with the games either way so I'm enjoying it, but I don't want to view it as a tool for fitness if it really isn't...
