For fitness and health, I am the key component.

I find Spark to be a helpful tool but in my "real life," there is really just me. Others start out with me and then give up. At times I've even been told I was losing too much weight, exercising too much, or eating too little, all while I was in a healthy weight range.

With all my faults, it still comes down to me.

My husband often telling me how great I look!

8/22/13 6:59 P

The majority of my outside support comes from my friends, family, and coaches. My friends are inspired by my consistency, my family is there during hardships, and my coaches just knock me around and get my head right emoticon (They actually do way more than that, my coaches are AWESOME!!) emoticon

But my inside support comes from G-d, who ordained our bodies as His living, wakling, breathing (and sometimes MMA'ing) vessels to be light ofr His Kingdom.

The decision to eat right and workout is mine, and that keeps me going!

From me.

I have to live with me. I get acknowledgments from others, but ultimately, I'm the decider.

I don't really have any in-person support right now, but I don't have anyone sabotaging me either, so I am good. :)

Earlier in my journey I found lots of support in friends that I made at the gym, and especially from people in my Zumba class.

My family and friends at a distance are also very supportive when I see them, through Facebook, etc. My doctors have been amazing too as I have far exceeded what they thought I would be able to do.

I have friends and family who support me wanting to lose but they always order or cook stuff I shouldn't be eating like desserts and ice cream. I don't want to totally cut those things out but when I'm trying to lose, I definitely cut down on the sweets.

Primarily myself. My wife, unfortunately, is not much on diet and exercise. My younger daughter is supportive, since she eats healthy and exercises almost daily, doing both running and weights. Other than that, I use on-line groups to be supportive.

Yes support is such an important component in this healthy living lifestyle. I really have struggled with binge eating/emotional eating. My support in this area comes from other spark team mates and spark friends, my therapist and a while ago it came from a nutritionist that I was seeing. Also I have great support from close friends as far as people who I can turn to when stressed, sad, lonely, ect. and of course there is my relationship with Jesus. He is my ultimate support.

I do however have trouble with friends who love sweets which are my downfall and many times we will meet at DD and have a donut. It's hard to say no. I don't think they purposely try to sabotage me; they just are used to us meeting at DD or similar places. I need to say no or take an apple with me when I order my coffee and they order their donuts.

My boyfriend works hard to support me, but sometimes he himself struggles and we trip each other up.

I support myself.......and Jesus of course. No one else seems to care one way or the other. and that is fine with me. I know I am doing the right thing.

I agree that having a good support can be a cornerstone to this journey!

I have 2 people that are really supportive of me and my healthy lifestyle in 2 different ways. The first is my husband - he encourages me to go to the gym with him even when I don't want to, and will gladly check my form or teach me a new exercise as needed. He compliments not only how my body has changed, but also how hard he sees me work. The other person is my boss, who's also a good friend. She and I started our weight loss journey at the same time, so we would share recipes, successes, frustrations, tricks for shopping and making healthy meals, and support. I know that not everyone cares that I dropped a pant size, but she always cares and I love that I can share with her. I consider them both to be very supportive and it helps me not to backslide because I know it's not just me that sees and cares how I'm doing.

Support is such a key component to making healthy life style changes. Where are you getting your support from? Do you feel that your current level of support is either helping or hindering your progress. What do you consider to be supportive?

Thanks so much for reading this post. Have a great day.
