What I did is take pictures of myself in shorts and a sports bra along the way (i don't share them with any one) but I date them and view my progress. I couldnt see the weight loss until i reviewed the pictures.

Everyone is different. So I can tell you what has worked for me. About two months ago I started doing bicycle crunches, which is supposed to be the best ab exercise according to a lot of research. I started out very small doing about 3-4 sets of 12-15 reps about 2-3 days a week. I am now up to 300, doing about 30 reps in etch set until I reach 300. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THEY WORK!!! I am hoping to reach 500 really soon. So try to incorporate these in your workout routine to see if you see results. They are not easy, but the most effective.

Everyone loses differently. My belly goes last. It is flatish now, but I am nearly at my goal weight. It still pokes out a little, but much less than before, so I am happy.

Everyone is different. I'm around 110 pounds and I still have my belly.

Being an apple shape and a man, my belly fat was absolutely the last thing to go. I got a lot of comments that my face was too thin for my body but that eventually came back once my belly fat was gone. Just keep on keepin on. Good luck.

I do stay within my nutrition goals 98% of the time and I do get alot of exercise. At one time I was a workout-aholic. I have had my stomach muscles cut a few times and stretched out with babies and about 10 years of fat. I do believe that consistancy in diet and I am doing core exercises but most importantly I have to tone that area.

You might always have a soft belly. That is what happened to me. I lost a lot of weight ten years ago. I got scared when I could see my ribs. I was too skinny for me, but my belly was still soft. I was lower than a good weight for me, but I kept focusing on my gut and thinking I should keep going. Yeah, my belly was soft, but actually I looked good. My self image was distorted and I didn't see how good I looked. Could that be happening to you?

Reach for healthy, what ever that looks like on your body.

I've lost an incredible amount of weight/body fat, yet my lower tummy area is *my* 1st on, so it is making its departure, ever so slowly. Patience & Consistency is the key...which ever area of the body is *your* 1st on...cause there is no rushing the process, no matter how much we want it off!! emoticon

It's definitely an individual thing, like others have said. People lose weight in different areas at different rates.

That being said, I've heard several things that are supposed to target belly fat in particular,. I really have no idea if these are true, so please don't attack me if they're totally false haha. Some of them are total scams, like supplements, but there are also many behaviors that are healthy and good for weight loss anyway, so I don't see the harm in trying them. For example, I've heard that HIIT (interval training), eating more monounsaturated fats (olive oil, nuts, long as you stay within your calorie limit), and eating more whole grains are all linked to lower levels of body fat. Like I said, I have no idea if this is true or not, but since those are all good weight-loss behaviors anyway, they're worth a shot.

IMELECTRIC, It's not the amount of fat you're CONSUMING, it's the body fat percentage you have as you lose weight and become more fit. You need to stay within your calorie range and exercise in order for you to lose body fat percentage.

That is funny, the first thing to go on me was my butt and chest! My belly did reduce alot, but is still pudgy for my size.I have started a core exercise and zumba program, I hope this helps. Even when I go off the nutrition charts I am still within or under the fat intake. I am wondering what happens if I cut the fat goal in half? Will this help my pudge?

I think it is different for everyone. My belly is the first thing to re-appear when I fall off the wagon, and that is partly due to some digestion issues I have developed as I age. It took me a while to figure this out, though.

If you keep eating healthy and exercising, the belly fat will eventually go down. If you lose more weight successfully but your belly is still large, that's something to ask a doctor about. You may just need to give it more time.

I've never actually managed to lower my body fat enough to see my belly flab disappear. Keep at it, eventually it will go.

I need to know when the belly start to go? emoticon . I am exercising and i am losing weight on different parts of my body, but my belly seems to stand firm. This is the part on my body that i truly hate to see, it seem to just mock my weight loss effort. Am i expecting too much too soon? I have been at it for 3 months now. Or what am i not doing or should be doing?
