For cardio I do mostly jogging and brisk walking. For strength training I have very heavy duty resistance bands. I do have T25, 21 Day Fix, Turbo Fire and some dance cardio DVDs but I rarely use them. I guess I am a creature of habit, but I really enjoy the exercises that I do and I believe that has been pivotal to my success so far.

I do belong to a gym and get there once or twice a week to use machines I don't have at home like the elliptical, stationary bike and stair climber. I like to go just to be around other people. I'm a bit self conscious about taking classes.
Any home, I have a treadmill and a variety of weights, kettle bells and bands. I work out at home about 3x. Per week doing about 20 mins on the treadmill followed by strength training.
Probably once a week, I take my workout outside.
When my motivation fails, I never panic. I have a very strong support system and they help me get back on track quickly.

I have dumbells, resistance bands, a yoga mat, a body ball, and a kettlebell. My dumbells are too light now, and I don't have my bands here where I do most of my workouts. Lately I've been doing strength, and cardio alternating days.
I do 5-10 minutes with my kettlebell every morning. On strength days I do 30 minutes of body weight, and body ball exercises. For cardio days I do modern/club dance or belly dance depending on mood.

I used to have a gym at my previous residence, but since I dont have one here, I just do workouts at home. I usually do yoga and calisthenics for strength training. I dont really use free weights anymore.

I do some strength training 2 to 3 times per week (body weight and dumbbells). I primarily spend time doing cardio. At the gym, I use the rowing machine and an upright stationary bike. Occasionally, I will use the treadmill if the weather is too bad for me to walk outside. Outside, I like to walk, walk/run intervals, hike, and ride my bike.

I have a treadmill, weight bench, free weights, stability ball and DVDs at home. I like working out at home during the summer months because it's not as hot and gross in my house as it is at the gym. It's the same during the winter when temperatures hit the single digits.... Right now I am doing the DVDs in the 21 day fix. I love that they are an intense workout , that there are 7 in the set so it gives variety and that they are a half hour. I do one in the. morning and one at night. During the day in the summer months I am home so I fill my time swimming and hanging out with my kids. During the school year when I start teaching again, I plan to keep up the 2 DVDs a day and will add the gym back into the mix...nothing crazy probably just a half hour of cardio on the elliptical since I won't be moving around as much during the day.

I have an elliptical at home so I mostly do that one (7x a week a 30 min) There are sevveral DVDs and downloaded videos as well, at the moment I do ZUba Exhilarate and Zuba Ripped from the Ultiate zumba series. ANd then there's biking twice a week for 30-60 min
My workouts are mainly cardio - running, swimming, and cycling, but I broke my ankle a few weeks ago so I can do none of that. So I have taken to some strength training which I will continue doing once I am able to freely move about.

I use my treadmill and bike everyday and do strength training every other day
I run 4 to 5 days week @ 3 miles each time. I take weight lifting classes 3 days a week for an hour each time. I use weight machines 2 days a week and core class 1 day a week.

I do kickboxing class at a karate studio and my gym offers many different classes. I go to the toning and weight lifting classes they offer. Sometimes I go for a run with friends.
I have a treadmill, weights, workout videos and exercise ball at home. I only use the exercise ball on occasion.

I'm trying to go heavier on strength as gaining muscle is proving to be difficult for my body type. Mostly bodyweight, but I use a stability ball sometimes, and kettlebell a few times a week. I also do yoga a few times a week to improve my flexibility, and decompress. For cardio I either do modern/club dance, or belly dance depending on my mood.
my workouts are strictly bodyweight, and I do not see that changing for quite a while. Don't get me wrong I will always do bodyweight, but may add weight lifting in the future in addition to bodyweight. There would be hours in between each workout in order to recover from the other type of workout.

I do weight training. I have loads of weights between my husband and myself. Adjustable dumbbells, a barbell and bench, resistance bands. I stick to 4 main lifts; deadlifts, squats, overhead press and bench press and then vary my accessories. I lift 4 - 5 days a week. During the week I do 2x legs/core and 1-2x upper body with one full body session on Sunday.
I do a small amount of cardio. Usually 1-2 30 min sessions/week and 1 hour session on Saturday. I do aerobic intervals in my living room.
I do a lot of hiking, swimming, badminton, some jogging and jump rope but these are not planned exercise... for leisure.

I tend to work out at home because it's faster and more convenient, plus I don't have to fight with other people to use the equipment I want. I have a set of dumbbells (hoping to upgrade to a heavier, adjustable set this fall), a high quality yoga mat, and a stability ball. If I know what I want to work on that day, I'll just go straight into a workout. Otherwise I'll pick a workout video from Fitness Blender or Blogilates and follow along, or use one of my Jillian Michaels DVDs.
Do you have an equipment at home and do you use it?
Yes, I have some dumbbells, bands, and DVDs. I use them periodically. I also have a treadmill that's currently in storage as I am between addresses due to an idiot ex-husband. When the treadmill was not in storage, I used it regularly.
Do you have workout videos that you do your workout and which videos to you use?
I have several DVDs, including Walk Away the Pounds, Biggest Loser, and The Firm. I think the Walk Away the pounds are decent and haven't touched the others in ages. It's probably time to get rid of them. Honestly, I don't feel like I get a hard corse workout with the DVDs. But they may be a great place to start, especially the Walking ones and Biggest Loser.
Do you go to class, like boot camp, or Zumba, etc??
Yes, I love classes. Throughout the years, I have done spinning (indoor cycling), boot camp, step aerobics, Body Pump, and Total Body Conditioning. I decided I don't much care for Body Pump as they do the same workout for weeks on end. And I get bored too easily.
Do you go to the gym??
Yes. The classes I attend are at the gym. The gym also has more equipment than I could afford to buy or store at home. Plus, it's been a great place to meet friends.
As MissRuth said, you need to find what works for you. And my gym is a community center that offers drop in fitness classes to members and non-members. The non-members just pay a little more.

I work out at home. Too cheap to join a gym-- plus I live in the country and there's nothing close by. Mostly, I walk for cardio. My neighborhood is hilly and I wear a weighted backpack to add a little intensity. I do videos indoors when the weather's bad. I've got some dvd's but you can find tons of stuff for free on youtube. I've got some weights and a couple resistance bands to do strength training. There are lots of videos and demo's for strength training, right here on Spark.
I think the thing is, to find what works for you. If joining a gym would motivate you... maybe that's the route to go. If you're not so sure you'd really go to the gym.... maybe try working out at home for a while. Many communities have some sort of community center, where there are fitness classes for reasonable prices. And they're more of a "pay as you go" thing, rather than a monthly or yearly commitment like a gym would be.
As for *when* to work out-- I get up early to do the workout in the morning before work. I know when I get home in the afternoon, there is no way I'm going to work out. So I get up and get it over with.

For those of you who don't know me (pretty much everyone), I am Sherbie from Canada. I have rejoined again to get my weight loss back on track.
So.....I am curious to know what kind of workout people do?? Do you have an equipment at home and do you use it? Do you have workout videos that you do your workout and which videos to you use? Do you go to class, like boot camp, or Zumba, etc?? Do you go to the gym??
For me, I do outdoor boot camp once a week til Thanksgiving and then twice a week for the winter. I was doing the Hip Hop Abs for awhile and really like it but have to get back into.
For those who do the workout at home, how do you keep yourself going without quitting and when is the best time to do the workout??
