Not sure what I inherited because I'm so different from my mom. Hope you're still enjoying SP.

Oh, kankles. I got them from my dad's side, with very thin wrists from my mom's side. I wish they matched - just something I had to let go of a long time ago!

I inherited fat legs and "kankles" from my father's side of the family! I inherited varicose veins from both my mother and father. I think I inherited some intelligence from both parents.
I recently received my "inheritance" from when my father died in 2008. It was a check for around $256.00.

To answer the question in the original post, I'm not the one in the family with a passion for genealogy. It's a cousin who has gone as far as he can with his direct relatives, and on into other branches.
It's almost bizarre the info. he has gotten from divorced and 2, 3 X removed relatives' ancestors.
So, I understand when you say it's a passion. He can't stop.

I inherited my mother, (grandmother, great grandmother....) heavy, thick, reddish brown hair. My dad's love of gardening (and fishing!) and the lack of height from both!
I inherited my Dad's love for salads and vegetables. He never eats desserts, we didn't have them growing up. We ate salad for snacks or desserts-he always said you couldn't beat a good salad. He liked having a big garden with lots of tomatoes and fresh peppers.
Two of my sisters love to grow vegetables in their gardens and can and freeze their stuff. I buy vegetables all summer at the Farmer's Markets and freeze or can it too.
He is 84 now and still lives independently.Last time he visited, when he was 80, he climbed up on a ladder in the pouring rain to clean out a plugged gutter, repaired a screen door, and cooked a chili dinner.

My mother's sense of humor & love of words, my dad's leaky heart valves(which I passed on to my 1st daughter), his high cholesterol which I've been able to control with a good diet. My husband doesnt like it very well. But that's his problem. He can buy that stuff for himself.

I inherited wide hips and really dark eyes. What I didn't inherit is more important, high cholestrol. Both of my younger brothers have high cholestrol even with medication. One has had a heart attack and the other had stents put in. So far, my cholestrol levels have been normal without medication.
Whoops, guess I should have been more specific! When I said "inherit" I was thinking of things like a love of exercising, sports ability, cooking talent, things that would be related to diet and exercise..

All I know about my history is that my great, great, ... uncle signed the Declaration of Independence. Someone researched it for my Dad one time. George Wythe.
I love genealogy and have tracked a lot of relatives. I'm interested to see what the women in my family did, how long they lived and what they died of. Anyone else have a passion for learning about their family history?
