I am trying not to look since I stepped on and it said 122. I was once 110 at the end of my weight loss. I began my yoga challenge about 115 and a month later was up 7 lbs. I know I snacked a bit and muscle was there, too, but ugh.
Have you kept measurements or checked by the feel of your clothes?

Wow, I read this and can totally feel your pain. I began a yoga challenge at my local studio. They have a hot yoga class that is amazing and I had been taking it off and on since earlier this year. I took a break in the summer because of my kids not having a place to go while I sweat for 1hr and 15 min and burn 900 or so calories.
Anyway, the challenge was take 20 classes of any kind in 30 days....that's an average of almost 5 a week. I finished in 23 days!!! I did a lot of hot yoga and tried a core class which was awesome!!
I measured my stats at the beginning....weight, BMI, water weight, bone density, calves, thighs, tummy, hips and breast. At the end, BMI was UP, my weight went UP, water was DOWN, bone the SAME, and the other measurements were either the same or UP slightly also. I was very upset. I had been working very hard. I know I had snacked more than usual, but I thought my crazy exercising was making up for it.
My clothes fit mostly the same if not maybe a bit snug around the waist. I know my muscles are strong. I see it in my shoulders and arms and feel it in my stomach and legs. I can do things I never could do before, but UGH, the 5+ lbs is crazy!!! Now I'm going into the holidays a bit nervous.
I have decided, since I no longer have anymore yoga passes anyway, to go back to my other gym exercises (despite my love for Hot Yoga) and really watch my food.
It's been a month of this new stuff solid and I am strong, but not changed physically. I feel your panic.

I completely understand your frustration. Knowing that you're doing all the right things and it doesn't show on the scale is very discouraging. In the past, if I was feeling good about the day, having done my exercise and stayed within my calories, and then got on the scale which didn't show a positve result, I would let it ruin the good feelings I originally had. That's no way to live. That's why I got off the scale and focus on living healthy. I feel energized. My pants are fitting better and I sleep better, so I know that means I'm making progress. Try taking your measurements and check them once a month... that is a much better way to gauge your progress. In any case, don't give up. What good will come of that??? If something isn't working try something different until you find what works for you. Everyone is different so there's not single answer that can tell you how or when the weight will come off. Many successful Sparkers have said Consistancy is really the key. So hang in there and

I'm really struggling to lose this weight, but I keep on doing the right things most of the time. I do get down and discouraged, but if I keep doing this, I will eventually get to where I want to be, and crossing that line will feel that much more rewarding because I will know how much it really took to get there. What you're experiencing really is perfectly normal. When a person does an intensive workout, their muscle fibers soak up water like a sponge. This is what they are supposed to do. Your muscles will release any excess water they don't need once they've adapted to the new routine.
Ever notice your weight goes up during TOM ? Most women tend to "gain" weight during their menstrual cycle. Is that a fat gain ? Nope. it's nothing more than a temporary water weight gain that passes in a few days. this too shall pass.
Don't tie your emotions to the scale. There is more to good health than a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning. You really will see many ups and downs on the scale as you lose. And that too is perfectly normal.

Our weight is not a static number, but more like a vital sign. Just like your blood pressure, heart rate and body temp will vary throughout the day, same is true with your weight. Because our bodies are largely made up of water (the fitter we are the more water we retain), any deviation in our diet, hydration, workouts, even hormones can lead to a shift on the scale.
Know that all changes within the body must begin at the cellular level...all the way down to the fat cells need to release the free fatty acids, to the muscle cells making bigger and more numerous mitochondria-these are the organelles within the cells-to give us energy.
It isn't uncommon to see a slight upward shift in weight when we start exercising, or add a new training regimen and eating better. For one the muscles are making more mitochondria which allow for extra glycogen-stored glucose in the cells- therefore, your body hangs on to more water to help with the cooling off process for exercise and for helping process energy. Your muscles will also have an increase in blood volume in order to have better availability to oxygen and removing waste, especially lactic acid. These things coupled with eating higher fiber foods, such as fruits and veggies can show a gain, when in all reality it is just a shift in fluids.

It's normal to retain water in muscles when starting a new workout. There is a difference between "weight gain" and "fat gain". This is likely not the latter.

Thank you for the kind words and motivation. I will keep working hard. It wont be easy but I will do my best. I guess thats all I can do. Sometimes I wish it was a little easier. Hopefully Ill start seeing some results once Im done the 60 day workout.

It IS frustrating to work hard and not see results. Been there many times. I think our bodies need time to adjust to our new work and sometimes the scale does not reveal our progress for awhile. Stay your course and hang in. Check your water intake. Sometimes varying exercise style helps. If you are following your food goals and working out consistently the weight will go.
Meanwhile, sending you light and kindness. You are working hard! you are on target! Now, patience will be important.

It sounds like you have just started this journey, and if that is so, what you have experienced is perfectly normal. The tissues tend to retain some fluid for a while and that all adds some weight. Also, you will be reducing the fat composition but replacing it with muscle - muscle weighs heavier than fat!
ALSO there are other variables - the weight of the food you had eaten during the day prior to weigh-in, whether you had been to the loo prior to weigh-in last time but not this time (that can add QUITE a bit), the time of day - the time of month. A lot of us can experience that fluctuation of weight and more, in the one day!
Instead of focusing on your weight, just continue to eat healthy and within your calorie range, get your exercise (allow at least a day off a week o give your muscles a chance to repair themselves), choose hydration wisely (water mostly over alcohol/soda/juice) then you won't go far wrong. In time you will notice that your clothes start to fit you better, you may find that you have more energy, sleep better - the list goes on!
Ensure that you have entered the details of your exercise into your initial set up because this can make a big difference to the calorie range assigned to you. Under-eating can be as much a problem as over-eating.

Weighed myself again today and sadly have now gained a total of 1.5kg since starting the insanity workout :( I am eating healthy...well, trying to as much as I can....I am keeping up with the workouts (only missed monday coz I had food poisoning) and I still am not seeing any results. I feel like its all a waste of time right now :( My BMI puts me as overweight which is why I started this in the first place and yet, my BMI has gone up since I started (now at 28). Damn I hate weigh in day :'(
