I only count the water I drink. Make sure I drink at least 8 glasses a day. Not sure how I would know how much water is in food.

I only count the plain water I drink which normally is 6 to 8 glasses a day.

I just count the water I drink, or coffee, tea

Water is also a natural diuretic. A diuretic is ANYTHING that promotes urine production.

Besides which, science has proven that caffeinated beverages do not have any more of a diuretic effect than plain water.

I never counted the water I use to make oatmeal or in anything else I add water to. Hard to accurately say how much is absorbed and how much you lose as steam. I only count how much I actually drink.

I've read articles that say the water in foods an drinks do count as water intake. However like most people have said I don't count that in my tracker. I stick to the pure water that I drink. . I usually get my intake in by drinking 8 oz when I wake up. 16 oz with each meal, and then misc sipping through the day. I try to cut off my drinking at 8-9 pm so that it doesnt have me up going to the bathroom at night.

Good luck on your journey, and drink up. emoticon

I don't count the water in the food when I count my 8 glasses, it would make it easier. I used to count the herbal tea but now I try to get the 8 glasses. I feel it helps with the weight loss.

It is so very easy to become dehydrated in the desert climate in az that I always drink 8 glasses of water plus water in foods

INMHO, coffee and tea do NOT count as they are natural diuretics. In fact, if I drink a cup of coffee, I always follow it up with a cup of H2O.

Water in food totally counts! That's the secret people don't realize--your body doesn't NEED 8 huge glasses of water a day, because you get water in food & other liquids....

If you drink water when you workout, or when you feel thirsty during the day--great! But sadly, cramming in 8 glasses of water a day is NOT a magic diet pill--it won't make you lose weight! It'll just make you have to potty....a lot.

I don't count the water I use when cooking, but I do try to choose water-rich foods to augment the 8 cup a day minimum. :) The water count is for YOU, so if you're having a hard time meeting your goal, by all means, allow yourself to count whatever water you want to. When I first started, 8 glasses was a chore. The way I overcame it, was simple: I realized that if it were Diet Dr. Pepper or Bud Light, I'd have no trouble guzzling it. Since then, if I'm behind on my water consumption, it's simply "gulp, gulp, gulp, gulp" instead of "sip, sip!"

Does adding a cup of water to quick oatmeal count as a cup of water? This sounds silly, but it just occurred to me as I poured the water. Thanks!
