It gets better! When I first set that goal I was peeing every.single.hour! My body wasn't used to all that water, I really didn't drink much water at all previously. Now my bladder has adjusted and though I'm still drinking all that water, I'm back to pre-water bathroom schedule. ;)

It got better for me after about 3-4 days of 64oz. Now I am back to my previous schedule (you know, the one that doesn't involve me having to excuse myself twice during a 30-minute meeting at work!).

It could be the change in fluid intake but for me I discovered I had prostae problems. I've been trying to lose weight, drink more water, exercise. My doctor told me to take Super Beta Prostate and if that doesn't work we'll try something else. But I'm just saying if you have to pee all the time, especially in the night and you're over 50 it could be prostate problems. www.newvitality.com/super-beta-prostate/p/ 5A01FE05925C5D7/
Like HOOKCHICK I drink all day long, but avoid it when I'm not close to a bathroom. My family knows that on long trips I need to stop regularly, but that has always been the case with me. It's just more now that I am drinking so much water.
Also, my PE instructor says as opposed to 8 glasses a day, that some doctors recommend that you should drink half your weight in water to lose. So I weigh 193, I should be drinking closer to 90 ounces of water instead of 64. I'm still working on the 64, but I am planning on getting up to 90.
I've been drinking at lest 8 8oz glasses of water per day for a few weeks and still go like crazy tho it is getting better or I'm better at spacing out the amount of water so I don't need to my desk at work so often.
I def go more than 4-5x per day even when I don't make my water goal. I guess the body just needs to get used to a fuller bladder more often and will adjust over time.
It depends on the person. I would never be able to make it on only 4-5 times/day. I've had bladder problems since I was 10 years old and one of the things my doctors have always told me was to drink plenty of water and never "hold it" - go immediately when I feel I need to, which is upwards of 10 times/day. I drink about 1.5 liters of water and/or tea by 3pm and then I tend not to drink much after that as I don't like to wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, but my food is very water-heavy (I eat a lot of vegetables, soups, that sort of thing) so I still have plenty of reasons to go to the bathroom lol.
Peeing only 4-5 times a day?? Good grief! I must have a tiny bladder; I was going way more than that even before having a kid! I have to restrict my beverage intake when I know I'll be in a situation where I can't get to a bathroom easily, but most of the time I get in enough water.

It depends on person to person but if you're bothered by waking in the middle of the night, try to avoid water about an hour before bed.
If you're peeing more than 4-5 times a day in total, you're drinking too much water.
Eight glasses is a myth. It's a good starting point, a general guide. But if you spend half your day in the toilet it's clearly too much for you!
Try drinking less.

I know what you mean--yesterday I was observing in a classroom and I had to ask the teacher for his key every time I had to go. If only my bladder had gotten used to it already!!

Oh I know it is embarrassing, I hate it too, because we live in my in-laws basement, so I am up and down the stairs constantly (I guess that's good exercise, but still annoying). Yea I hope it does help us, I really need to lose this weight. I am so sick of crying myself to sleep because of what I have done to myself! And so far so good, my pee is pale yellow! I know it's definitely worth it!

Oh man, I just started doing the same thing and its embarrassing how often I have to pee!! I had a friend who was on a water kick a few years back and I remember it took her a few weeks before her body became accustomed to her water intake. Hopefully this helps us! It's worth it :)

I don't know how long it lasts, but I've always had bladder issues, at least since my kids were born. (Gee, thanks girls.) Make sure your urine is pale yellow - not clear. Clear could mean OVERhydration!
It does get better, but you'll need to give your body time to adjust.
That could be a couple days or a couple weeks, I suppose. It all depends on how your individual body functions and what else you intake (food, nutrients, meds...).

When you first start drinking a lot of water it makes you have to pee a lot! How long does this last? I Just started yesterday and I had 10 8oz glasses of water, it seemed like every 5-10 minutes I had to pee, I was up all night! Same thing today, I've only had two glasses of water, and I'm still going to the bathroom like crazy.... seriously how long does this last?
