I'll try them baked and cold. I have four to use this week and I am using them as a substitute for regular potatoes. That will give me a chance to try them in various guises. LOL Thanks to both of you for replying.

My favorite way to have them is baked in the skin also. If there are any parts left over, store in refrigerator and like previous poster, love them cold for a snack

I usually bake my sweet potato in the skin. I cut it in half and store part in a plastic bag in the fridge. I've been known to have it as a snack when I'm hungry, or to add it to soup or a casserole that I'm making.

Thanks. Sweet potatoes are new to me (I'm in the UK) so am not familiar with how to store them etc. I bought some a couple of years ago and boiled them but didn't like the taste. Now, however, I've used some of SP's recipes with spices and cooked them in the oven and they are really nice that way. My problem has been what to do when I can't use all the potato but now I have two suggestions and I won't be throwing the remainders away when I use part.

I just put it in a container in the fridge without water. It keeps for awhile like that.

Thanks. That is very helpful.

I do this all the time! I just put the rest in a Ziploc baggy in the fridge. It always seems to be fine when I use the rest of it.

If you use just half of a sweet potato is it possible to keep the other half for another time (uncooked) and if so how do you do so please? I wondered if they are the same as regular potatoes and you can just peel and dunk them in cold water? Many thanks.
