Nobody around me wants to participate... I make a point to get in my exercise most days--Thanksgiving is family / friends day and I need to do what works for them.

I'm doing a 5k turkey trot in Downers Grove, IL. It was originally supposed to be me, my husband, my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law, but my husband's still dealing with a knee injury from just before his marathon last month, and my sister-in-law just hurt her ankle. Hoping my brother-in-law still makes it, but I'm going regardless!
My yoga studio is hosting a charity class to benefit Yogis Feed the Hungry. I figure it will be a good way to get centered before a day with the relatives! ;)

I'm doing a turkey trot (5k) in Braintree Ma I'm doing it with the south shore fitness meetup group. This will be my first real 5k race (I did the diva dash, a 5k "obstacle" race last year but it was a major disappointment). I'm so excited even though the start time is 8 am

I'm doing the Gobble Cobble 4 miler in downtown Baltimore, hence named for the cobble stone streets on the route. It starts less than a *very* walkable mile from my house so there's not really a reason not to do it. Plus the swag is not the usual teeshirt. Last year it was a glass beer stein and this year its a underarmour long sleeve shirt.
Are you participating in a Thanksgiving day event, like a 5k or 10k? Which on are you doing? Where is it? And are you doing it with others? What prompted you to do it?
I am doing a Turkey Trot 10k in St. Paul, MN. I have done a Drumstick Dash 10k for the last 4 years but wanted to try a new race this year with, ahem, better swag. I am running alone. (I can't get the husband off the couch.) But, I know some friends of mine from my home town will be doing the race as well. It's supposed to be chilly with a low of 15 F and high of 27 F but that's Minnesota for you!
