I know this situation all too well and then while your there you get the phone call/text of how much longer are you going to be oh and then people want us to loose weight but can't help us by watching kids. So this is what I decided to do and today was my first day.... I work Mon-Fri 4am-9am and well thank god my gym just went 24hrs m-f so I am getting up at 1am and to the gym by 2am. I was able to enjoy my work out and got to tan and then shower and now the rest of the day is mine! Hope this helps.

Tell yourself it's OK to be selfish, especially when your health is the issue. You can't change him, only your reaction to him and if you give up on your goals to make him happy, you're only going to wind up with both of you miserable.

I would say, "sorry you don't like it, it's MY time!" and run out the door.

But really, as a rational adult you should have a conversation with your hubby.

Sit down and have a real conversation. Tell him you've noticed that he seems to be a bit aggravated when you want to go work out. Does he feel you're ignoring him? Using time that used to be "your" time to workout? If he gives you the standard, 'No, it's fine," type response, can you switch up your workout time to one when he's not affected? I work out in the mornings when my husband is at the gym and my kids are (typically) still sleeping. I also do a class 2 nights a week, but my husband loves it because he gets to play video games while the kids watch TV!

Since I joined this site I've been trying to work out on a regular basis. Only problem is, my hubby always seems to get agitated when I do. He says there's nothing wrong but he always gets super grumpy when I go to work out.

Any thoughts on this?
