I'm a little confused on the food and nutrition tracker. I tried using it and I just got lost. Perhaps I'm making it more difficult than it really is. But as I'm not sure about which foods to eat how am I supposed to make a meal plan for the week? I realize they list a good number of foods they probably believe are healthy in each meal category. However, sometimes when I try to add a certain food or take one off, sometimes it doesn't work. And I'm not sure if I can save what I've created or if I have to write it down. I haven't really learned the value of calorie counting either. I thought I had, and then a few health nut friends started going on about how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, trans fat, etc I should be ingesting and watching and when I read the labels I get discouraged b/c sometimes it's just overwhelming trying to count them all. And sometimes whereas the carbohydrates might be a good number in what I'm eating, the protein or the transfats might not be. It can get to be frustrating. : /

I agree, start with the nutrition and exercise tracker and work your way up from there. Once you get used to that then you can go more into the site. I love the articles, that was the next step for me after using the food and nutrition tracker for a while. Good Luck!

Thank you so much! :) I will! Thankfully, my big sister is on this site too. So that's a bonus! :)

Welcome! The site will come in time. There is a lot to do here, but start with tracking your food and exercise and the rest will come in time. If you have a specific question on how something works, post it on the message board and you will receive lots of help. Good luck on your journey!

Hi, everyone! I'm Stephanie! I'm new here and this site is a little overwhelming. There's so many links, buttons, options, etc. I get a little lost in here sometimes. But I want to make a change in my life. I'm taking karate lessons 3 times a week, sometimes only 2. I"m currently in Pharmacy school and it's VERY HARD to find time to sit and stretch and exercise. Every minute of every hour counts toward memorizing 300 chapters of chemicals, drugs, body parts, etc. I've had a history of depression and it contributed to my weight gain. Back in high school I was active despite my depressions, slender and fit. Now I'm not and to make matters worse my fiance of 3yrs broke up with me. He was incredibly active, fit, athletic, and kind of intimidated me with how good he was at staying healthy. He was my role model and my teacher and now he's gone. We've managed to save our friendship, but it's not the same. He left me feeling more than just depressed. He left my self esteem in ruins and now I'm just trying to feel better about myself!! :) I've managed to squeeze in 20min of a workout video a day in!
