Been trying to get into the morning work outs but lately my will power has been lacking. Set my alarm for 5:30 and I just can't help but getting back to bed. Trying to push myself because I know I can do it.

I often cant sleep if i wake up in middle of the night will fall asleep 2 hours later then alarm goes off would thimk my 2 hour treadmill workout would make me sleep like a baby then I wake up and cant sleep ......I usually tale melatonin 10 mg

my sleep is all over the place and I think i will try setting a definite bed time and see how that goes. Hopefully routine will become key to a good nights sleep

I am lucky to get 4-5 hours a night, been that way for about 11 years.

I get funky dreams on sleeping stuff, like Tylenol PM. Someone told me that Advil PM is better. Thanks for sharing.

I take Melatonin at night. Drawback is it gives you funky dreams. Thought it was just me, but others have told me the same thing.

Good point. I heard that for some people (me included) a workout at night ( after 8pm) can actually wake you up. Thanks for weighing-in (no pun intended).

Considering I have always had to be able to switch from day and night, sometimes when I need to be asleep for something big the next day I will take NyQuil. It might not be the best idea but it is better than just staying

Hello all, I found that when I workout in the morning 5 or 6 days a week, I sleep better at night. I am a morning person so it's easier for me to get up early and work out before everyone else gets up. By the time I get home from work, help fix dinner and then cleanup, it's 7:30 and I'm tired. I need to make sure that not only my mind is tired (I have a desk job) but also my body.

That's my two cents.

Good point.

I am trying to avoid waking up, though, since it seems to affect my energy the next day, or maybe it's a symptom of bad sleep.

I'm trying to not drink water in the evening too, which seems to help.

When I can't sleep I get up and do something which usually then puts me to sleep or at least I get something accomplished.

Dinner before 8 PM and a Valium 10 at 11 is The Thing for me.

The sleep challenge has helped me a lot. They say bed is for "sleep and sex," which makes a a lot of sense now. When I try to work or read in bed, my mind gets wound up. Thanks for the reply.

The thing that helped me the most with my sleep was to not read in bed. When I go to bed, it's to sleep and nothing else (sadly)

Ok gents, do you have trouble sleeping? I do.

I strongly recommend checking out the SP Sleep Challenge. I'm still not getting perfect sleep, but it's much better after just two weeks.

The main change I made was going to sleep at the same time every night. It's amazing how herky-jerky I was about my sleep patterns.
