You've gotten some great advice already. Your best bet is to develop healthy habits that you can maintain for the rest of your life. That's how you take weight off, but more importantly, how you keep it off for good. Any extreme measures you take to lose weight quickly are likely to backfire in the end. It's hard to be patient, but a slow and steady rate of weight loss (1-2 lbs per week) is the best way to go.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

To lose weight fairly fast ( 2-3 pounds per week), I jogged one hour a day.
Then, I cut out all sugar treats and all dairy products. When I cut out cheese, cottage cheese, butter, ice cream alone I lost one pound per week. When I cut out sugar treats alone, I also lose about one pound a week.

I also drank tons of water per day.

SusanBeamon, at first I was offended by your comment because I was asking a serious question and reading your comment saying to cut off a body part really made my question sound like a joke. I truely am sorry for what you have gone and I do hope that eveything goes well for you. And I do agree with you, I can't lose it overnight and I can't gain it overnight either. I just have to be patient with my body and eat well and exercise enough.

to lose weight fast, you could cut off a body part. i'm serious. the experts have done studies after studies, and they have concluded the most effective diets have a 500 calorie deficit and include a 2 pound a week (if your BMI is over 30) maximum loss. more than that, unless you are in a hospital, is dangerous and basically unhealthy. read the spark site reports and basic program.
I started my health plan seriously in march 2012, mostly because i needed surgery and the surgeon wanted me down to 220. i was 270 at that point. i got down to 235 before the surgery in august 2012. just eating less, which is very hard. i gained back about 10 pounds during recovery. i have mostly recovered from my surgery, but i'm still using my cane. i have been concentrating on regaining strength instead of loosing, so i'm stalled at 235. once i can stand on one foot without falling over, i will start some exercise program and work on my food plan. there is no fast way to do any of that, but it will happen.
2 pounds a week is 10 pounds a month, and that's fast enough. you didn't get big overnight. you can't shrink overnight either.

1) Carbs do not make you fat. They are an important part of a healthy, balanced diet. All carbs are not created equal, but you do not need to reduce carbs to lose weight.

2) You do not have to cut out alcohol. Alcohol is empty calories, yes, but that doesn't mean you can't have it.

3) Exercising more will not make you lose weight faster. Because you need to eat more to fuel your intenser levels of exercise, you end up the same deficits.

You do not attempt to lose weight fast. Weight loss quickly tends to come back quickly. This is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Making healthy lifestyle changes that you can sustain for a lifetime is about losing weight in a healthy way.

Because Sparkpeople is about balance and healthy living, I think you will find most members here unsupportive of your concept of "losing weight fast" and advise you to slow down and take better care of yourself.

I know in order to lose weight fast I have to cut out alchol and reduce my carbs. I also have to eat more lean meats, vegetables, fruits and workout in long duration. I already am doing these things and I'm struggling with reducing my carbs such as grains. I love whole grains and sometimes I eat it other times I don't and I eat white starches. I workout 2 to 3 times a week for 15-30 minutes of cardio or high intensity interval training and I do strength for about 10-15 minutes. What I want to know is what do you guys suggest on losing weight fast? What did YOU do to lose weight fast?
