I sweat a lot more, and actually have to worry about dehydration when it is hot. What usually leads to bloat is when we try to rapidly replenish the water we lost, and drink extra. We aren't retaining water, we are drinking a lot more of it, because we wait till we are thirsty to start replacing lost fluids.
I try to drink a glass every 60-90 minutes, and keep from ever feeling thirsty, that way I am not walking around with 3 glasses of water sloshing around, especially when I am about to weigh in.
The summer heat didn't use to affect my weight very much, but after changing up my exercise habits this year, my body has been bloating much more easily! So yes, this heat has been making me retain a couple of pounds of water.
I don't know if it actually does any good, but I try to limit my sodium intake so that the water retention at least doesn't get any worse. I also tend to drink *more* water (some days I get 10 glasses in) and eat more fruit... because my body also holds onto water when it's dehydrated! Oi, there's no winning.
If you are one of the unfortunate experiencing summer heat; does it make you retain water/fluid? It sure does me. I drink my recommended and try not to go over a lot. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem.
