Yes, you're right, Beth's recovery has been miraculous.

I'm not a TV watcher, so I don't know the program you're talking about... but there are some incredible accounts of immense weight loss. I'm so inspired and impressed by their success!

You don't have to go to TV to see such amazing results, though. Have any of you seen the also awesome results from our own Beth Donovan (~INDYGIRL) ? She's an inspiration too. She posts many motivational blogs and secrets to how she accomplished her goal. With before-and-after pictures as well.

I've lost a lot of weight, but these people astound me. If they can do it, I know I can make it too. Slower (because I'm also disabled; my loss has been diet ALONE, I can't exercise at all), but progressing. And I'm going where I plan to be, at whatever pace I am able to achieve.

As can we all! We're going there! These other folks and their success proves it.
Go us!

I saw that episode as well and was amazed by this guy's determination. I would like them to check in with him a year later and see if he is still at or around his final weigh-in weight. I must admit that after all that weight loss, he looked too thin!

Love that show as it is much better the BL as it shows that it takes a year of self determination to loose large amounts of weight.

I watched the show for the last two weeks and have been inspired to make changes due to both shows. During the first show that I watched, the participant who was heavier than I ran in Paris, France. I decided that I would start a C25K program and register for a 5K. This week's show inspired me to learn to lose the maximum of body fat with the minimum loss of muscle. Love, love, love the show!!!

Amazing! However losing it is the easy part! Keeping it off is what is hard! Trust me I lost 90lbs and regained 45 so here I am again! My issue is always putting myself last and I vow to never let that happen again! It's all about me!!!

Rocky was truly amazing........He sure did work hard at it. Glad to see him do this. He took a year to do this. I feel that Chris has people do it the right way.....through good nutrition and working out.

I missed that one. But it makes me feel bad That I have been struggling this whole year and have only a two pound net loss so far. Guess I have to remember not to compare myself to others and that this is an experiment of one.

What worries me about the people on the show is how many of them are actually keeping the weight off? Sure, with a trainer to whip you into shape, it's one thing - but it's a life style that has to be maintained over your life. I'd rather go slow and have my body get adjusted than lose it so quickly and gain it all back.

I just started watching older episodes of this show on "On Demand' All of the episodes are very inspirational. I cry like a baby through the whole show, with almost all of them.

oh, yeah, I saw that......and was totally amazed and blown away by it. Still, it is troubling to me for I know that I could never do that....such intense training...I do exercise but mostly chair exercise so most of the things Chris had him do is beyond my capabliities.....but it is inspiring to see how determined he was to see it through.

I knew right away what you were talking about he started at 417 and lost 221 and he was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but wow 6 ft of extra skin to take off I'm so glad he qualified to get it removed and to think they almost didn't let him do it.
In the beginning it didn't seem as if his family was very supportive but he did it and looked fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless him! To think he was a body builder before he gained it all to, but stress can do a lot.
He ended up with less body fat then Chris at the end , what a great guy that Chris Powell is special place in heaven for people like him...
and to think this guy had 2 broken ribs and he still lost weight and exercised I didn't think it was right to have him box, I hope Chris learned a lesson and won't have them do things like that anymore

The 49 year old guy who lost over 200 lbs in one year on Extreme Weight Loss program was incredible. Starting at 414 lbs he was at only 10% body fat after 9 months! That is better than many body builders and pro athletes.

And he was diagnosed with heart disease and almost disqualified at the beginning!

What a miraculous instrument God has given us in our mortal bodies!

I have a great deal of respect and admiration for Chris Powell and the work he has done in freeing people from their prison of obesity.
