emoticon Thank you for your post!!! I couldn't agree more!

My acupuncture appointment was on Friday and I am feeling so much better! Got on the treadmill yesterday, got my 8000 steps goal done during the day and did a great workout this morning!

Thank you for your support! Have a great day! emoticon

I looked at the page of the 2nd poster (the one who was contemptuous of acupuncture)--he's a guy with 25 years medical research experience--i.e., he seems to have become closed minded and focused on his speciality to the extent he can't see other options.

I'm glad most of us don't have to go that route. Acupuncture, in the hands of a qualified practitioner, is a valuable, valid treatment.

Acupuncture is absolutely a real treatment! It has the same cure rate as western medicine, actually. I can't believe how rude some people can be! OP: I am so glad your acupuncturist has given you some helpful advice. :)

I'm very grateful there is alternatives to traditional western medicine. I hope alternative methodologies become more available in the near future :-) good health to you!

I have used Acupuncture for Essential Tremors BECAUSE I couldn't use the usual treatment - medication which could have potentially killed me because of Asthma.

It worked well, and while I was with him, if I was suffering from the gunk of asthma, or had a stinking headache, or my back and hip pain was bad, he would pop needles in for those too, and with real good results. The person who performed the Acupuncture is a Medical Doctor who has written many award winning books (American awards) on the subject and who teaches Doctors and Nurses the practice. A well qualified medical Acupuncturist has a lot more success for REAL health issues than a lot of people give them credit for! I know that the one I saw often had pregnant women and cancer patients turn to him for nausea and pain treatments, with good results, because conventional treatments did diddly squat.

Acupuncture is a real medical treatment for a range of things. Just because you don't believe in it doesnt make it any less real for the people who do. I don't believe in god, but I don't belittle the people who do and think that god makes a difference in their weight loss...

Yesterday I had an appointment with my Acupuncturist. Hadn't seen her for a while. She told me my digestion was off and said that this could be the reason I'm not losing the weight I'm wanting to. I had, in fact, changed the digestives I was taking, so I'll be back to taking the ones she recommends.

I'm 66 and loving getting back into the exercise, eating right and all of the support from you all at SparkPeople.

Thank you and have a great weekend! emoticon
