Thanks for the reply - this recipe, as it is, is a complete failure. I tried tossing in a half a banana (frozen might work better) that made it a little more like egg-nog consistency, but just wasn't sweet enough.

I never liked the store-bought egg nog so we always just threw low-fat milk, 1 egg, ice, nutmeg and vanilla extract into the blender. It was more like a shake but it made me feel like I was joining in with the family... You could put your recipe into the blender and pour over ice... might help thicken it up enough.

I love egg nog, so naturally a cup of the real stuff is like a million calories. My mission is to make a really good, way light version, but I'm looking for ideas to improve upon my base:

8oz Vanilla Unsweetened Almond Breeze almond milk
1/4 cup Egg Beaters Original
1 Tablespoon Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup
1 big dash or two of Nutmeg
mix it all up and pour over ice
= 70 calories for the whole thing
if we add a shot of dark rum, that's what, another 80 calories brings it to 150 cals or leave it alcohol free and just use rum extract.
Anyone else want to mix this up and tell me what you think? I'd like to find a calorie free way to thicken it up some - maybe cook it a bit before chilling? Thoughts?
