I am following Weight Watchers Momentum right now, and I am actually getting better about stopping when I am satisfied on most days. The problem is when I use all of my weeklies.. Ut becomes harder for me to get back on track.

Now, my first week on plan, I had a cupcake, a burger, frozen yogurt, grilled cheese, and a burrito and still lost 2 pounds. I am just having one of those days where I want to eat the world.

Okay, Fair enough. I think OA puts a lot of their stuff online and if you Google around, you might be able to at least read the principles they go by and see if any of them work for you. You don't have to physically show up at a meeting unless you want to do it.

I have heard people say to remember the word HALT. Don't let yourself get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired, because those are generally some feelings that lead to binge eating.

It's possible to figure out for yourself (without therapy) what is going on in your head when you start to overeat and to choose a different response. It just takes some practice and you will probably slip up and eat a gallon of ice cream now and then before you get it under control. The important thing is to forgive yourself and try again the next time until one day you get it right.

I make just over 200 dollars a month. I cannot afford to go into therapy... And even if I could, the stress of seeing a counselor is enough to make me want to binge. I've had some bad experiences with counseling in the past.

I have considered attending overeaters anonymous meetings, but they kinda scare me lol.

I agree it may be a good idea to talk to a counselor of some kind about this problem. I have had issues with binge eating in the past, and it helped a lot to sit down and think about what I was feeling when I started to reach for volumes of food I knew I didn't need. When you deal with the underlying feelings, you can sometimes find other ways to react to them instead of eating yourself to death over it. Whatever "it" is.

Have you ever considered working with a therapist ? If not, start with a talk with your general practitioner. Your doctor could then refer you to a therapist who deals with eating disorders.

I'm sure you've read many of the Spark articles on emotional eating. If you find that those techniques don't seem to be helping, then maybe it's time to take your recovery a step further by going to a professional. You don't have to do this on your own and you shouldn't.

a good therapist can help you work through your issues with food. Because some times, binging isn't about the food. There's something deeper going on. That's why it's important to talk to a professional who can help you work through those issues.

I am a self-diagnosed binge eater, and I am working my hardest to overcome it. My biggest weaknesses are potato chips, cakes/cookies, ice cream, and string cheese.

To top it off, I babysit most days of the week, and the house is fully stocked with many if my trigger foods.

Right now, I am trying to get back on track after a binge on ice cream cake over the weekend, but the temptation to overeat is killing me. I would just have one treat, but I want it ALL, and I have a hard time stopping once I get started.... Doesn't matter how full I feel. I will keep eating.

To make things worse, evening babysitting jobs are my biggest challenge, and I have one coming up this weekend. I already planned on bringing my own snacks and dinner, but I still have to face all that temptation, and right now, I am still at a vulnerable state with my eating.
