If you drank the regular water for 3-4 weeks, you would get used to it.

However, flavored water is much better than fruit juice/pop. I would worry about everything else in your diet, before I got to some flavoring for my water.

Try some lemon or lime juice!

it´s ok if it works for you.

Artificial sweeteners are safe to use----but I still encourage a "moderate" intake amount. I usually encourage no more than 4-5 servings daily.
If you are using the Crystal Lite at full strength and consuming 3 of those 32 ounce bottles daily...that's 12 cups of artificially sweetened drinks---this is a little excessive.
Can you drink 1/2 water and the other half artificially sweetened?
Or can you not use the Crystal Lite at full strength...I find a little sprinkle will do me just fine.

When I first starting drinking water, I could only drink it if I put Crystal Light or something similar in it. If that's the only way you can drink it right now, it's definitely better than not drinking it at all, or not drinking enough of it. I'd recommend trying it differently in a couple weeks or so (and every so often after that if you still aren't likely to drink it then), perhaps as others have suggested, with berries or lemon/lime/orange juice in it. As you continue on your healthy lifestyle journey, your tastes will change, and you may find you eventually love just plain water.

I, too, try to limit artificial sweeteners, although I'm definitely not opposed to them. And yes, plain water is healthier that sweetened water. That being said, in the end, you have to do what works for you, and drinking it with stuff in it is far better than not drinking it at all. Just be fair to the water ;) and give it another chance every so often. I know that I rarely want flavored water when working out, for example, because there's something so refreshing about drinking plain, icy water when I'm working up a sweat. Sometimes, though, I still flavor it with fruit, or even Crystal Light, although not nearly as often as I used to.

I don't like plain water either. I do much better with tea and iced tea.

I am not a big fan of artificial sweeteners as they create a weird aftertaste that I really notice, in an unpleasant way.

You could try diluting your juices (for example, making it from the frozen concentrate but adding an extra can or more of water.... or by serving it cut half-and-half with sparkling water). Once you get used to this, you could try "infused water" instead of juice. (Basically, water with a squeeze of lime or lemon, or mint, or fresh ginger, or muddled blackberries, or cucumber slices, or your fruit of choice, or some combination of the above). I've been putting mint sprigs and lemon slices in my iced tea, and experimenting with iced "tea" made of various herbal blends (strawberry-rhubarb parfait from Davidstea is my current favorite).

Really, just do what you have to do to get the water in. If for today it is "crystal lite or bust" - then go with that... and slowly start cutting back on the amount you use over time... your sweet tooth does adjust if you keep at it.

It sounds like you're making a clear choice about what to drink - you're obviously thirsty, but you're choosing not to drink water and opting for much less healthy choices in the form of juice and soda.

I'm not opposed to crystal light and artificial sweeteners, but I do try to limit them and keep it to one bottle a day if any. Try adding some lemon juice to your water. Or keep a pitcher in the fridge with sliced fruit in it for a slightly, naturally flavored water and see if that helps.

Do whatever it takes to get your water in. Life is too short to not eat sweeteners. I enjoy them in many beverages I drink.

I carry with me a 32 oz water bottle. When I add crystal light, I can drink 3-4 of those bottles daily. If I add a tea bag (like a friend suggested), I drink MAYBE 2 bottles daily. If I go just straight water.....I don't even finish the 1st bottle.

My question bad are those sweeteners for me? Is it ok to sweeten if I'm getting more water? Without the sweetener, I know I'm not getting enough water, and usually find I'll drink sugar-loaded juices (I don't drink pop) those days with my meals, instead of a glass of water.

Thanks for the advice in advance!
