I agree with lifting heavier weights with fewer reps as well as HIIT!

"Toning up" is a fairly meaningless term. You "tone up" by losing fat. You can do strength training to hold on to muscle during the weight loss process, but if you're eating at a deficit, you won't really build muscle. That being said, I'd scale back the cardio and look into a heavy, solid lifting program. You will notice changes in your body composition. Google "HIIT" and you get tons of workouts. The BeFit Channel on YouTube as some programs (90 & 30) day, some part specific, others total body, that include some really great 10 minute interval videos. You wouldn't have to do the program, but could do a couple of those 10 minute videos, push yourself hard, and have gotten a great workout. I love simple lifting routines of heavy weight, lower reps, and the big, compound lifts. Check out New Rules of LIfting for Women (book) or or for ideas as well as good videos on proper form.

Ever since I started losing weight, my usual routine has consisted of exercising 60 minutes a day 5-6 (usually 6) days a week. As of lately, on average, I've burned about 6-800 calories per session, and about 2-3 times a week, I include strength training.

I am starting to feel like those workouts aren't as challenging for me, as I don't feel like I'm working out as hard as I could be. I'm wondering if it would it be better if I worked even harder for a shorter time, maybe 30 minutes at maximum heart rate, and then focused more on strength training?
I really want to start toning my body, since I've lost quite a bit of weight. I've noticed that my skin is sagging a bit, and I feel like maybe I should shift my focus more to toning up, but I also understand the importance of cardio as being necessary to continue this process...

any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you!
