Everyone is very different. I don't lose weight unless I'm 1000-1200. (I work out 2 -3 times a week only) . I have to be extremely mindful of what I'm eating . I have to eat every couple of hours, but never feel starving by the end of the day. I have to find food for calories many times. I'm also a fairly small person.
I suggest to go get metabolic testing done at your local gym or dr. office. I had mine done when the local hospital/nurses were at our local gym. It tells you exactly what your metabolic rate is at sleeping at while exercising. It lets you know exactly what calories you have to eat to lose and how much you need to maintain. It simplified my life a bunch.

Also, are you eating extra calories when you do workout, so that your "net calories" for the day are over 1200?
For example, if you only eat 1200 calories a day, and burn 250 in exercise, you're body is actually only getting 950 calories that day. It's possible you're body is just trying to tell you it's not getting enough.
Personally, I have found thru numerous diets over numerous years that I cannot and will not stick with a specialized diet (low carb, high protein, etc), and I am crabby and horrible and a generally sluggish person if I do not eat at least 1500 calories a day. Perhaps the other post about dropping your pounds per week goal a bit will help.

It would be a lot more helpful if you created a SparkPage and allowed access to see your Nutrition Tracker. Sometimes the problem isn't so much HOW MUCH we eat, but rather the composition of WHAT we eat. e.g. If a person eats candy, donuts, and chips, they might hit their calorie range, but I would guarantee that they would be starving. Processed foods tend to leave the body very quickly. If you increase lean protein, and healthy fats IF you don't eat much in that way, AND also increase the fruit/veges (look for lower calorie fruits) then odds are you will be less likely to get hungry. Also, ensuring that you eat start your day with breakfast and eat ALL of your meals is another way of ensuring that you are less likely to get hungry - especially later in the day.

The issue could be more what you are eating and it's effects on your BS and nutrient content. Do you want to share a day's menu?

You might try slowing down your weight loss goal to 1-1.5 pounds a week. That should adjust your calorie range. If what you are doing now isn't maintainable for the long run, you'll have far more trouble reaching your goal.

I've been following Sparkpeoples advice on how many calories I should eat to loose weight (1200 - 1550) and now after several month find that I can hardly keep it up anymore. Ive been having great success with the suggested calories and really dont want to eat more, but I'm almost always feeling hungry and feel like I am developing a food issue haha. I think that maybe the suggested calories for me are kind of wrong and want to know your opinions.
I'm pretty sedentary in my freetime. Often playing computer, going to the Mall, reading etc. But I'm also a kindergarten teacher which is a pretty active job I think?! I'm also exercising 3 times a week (40minutes jogging + about 15minutes strength exercise) and take an additional long hour walk each weak. Some weeks I exercise more, but never less.
Does anybody know an accurate calorie needs counter which takes everything into consideration? I've known one once but I have no idea where I found it. It was like this circular graphic where you could enter your age / height / weight and adjust the hours your sleeping / resting / walking / exercising per day. Does anybody know that one?
