when you maintain your weight, you eat a higher number of calories than you do when losing weight. basically your loss ranges are your maintenance ranges less a deficit that is what uses up your fat stores to lose weight. so the longer you give yourself to lose weight, the closer to maintenance you will eat. the shorter the amount of time you give yourself to lose, the more greater the deficit you need to make that happen, thus the lower loss ranges. make sense?

When I enter a goal date to lose my last couple lbs, it affects how many calories I should eat. For example, when I had my goal date set for this week, it showed 1500-1850/ day. When I pushed back my goal date, it upped the calories to 1800-2100. Is this typical? I'm confused by Spark.
