I really want one, but I will wait until I hear a few more reviews. I might just put it on my Christmas wish list. I just have a hard time spending $60 when I already have a pedometer.

I'm thinking about it. I don't have a pedometer or HRM, so this might be my starting point. I'll probably wait to see what the initial users think about it.

Amy - you are welcome. We had a hard time finding it at first also. I also figured out that the spark tracker logo can be removed from page and postings by editing the spark page setting. It is on the upper right of the page. There is a check box to uncheck and it will disappear from your page.

Thanks for the instruction. I just looked under the control panel and couldn't find it.

_AMY_ 1. At the bottom left corner of your computer screen click on "Start" 2, Click on "All Program" 3. Click on the "Spark" folder and it will open if I remember correct 3 folders 4, Click on "Uninstall Spark Connect" 5, Once the uninstall is done restart your computer and all should be good! emoticon

I just returned mine also. I did keep it for three weeks. Then I happened to look at the battery level. It had already started going down. I have a hard time with these little batteries. So off it goes. Also, I have a problem with the continually going for ten minutes.

Does anyone know how to uninstall the software on the computer?

I just returned mine yesterday. I kept it for ten days, but had lots of trouble with syncing and got frustrated with it. I bought a Fitbit Zip yesterday for the same price and so far it is working beautifully with absolutely no trouble syncing and no frustration for me.

I bought the SP tracker and have used it this week and am enjoying it. I have never owed a Fitbit or any other type of tracker so cannot compare. It says it works best on your shoe. I wear it on the cuff of my sock as am a nurse and do not want anything gross to get on it. I now know I track about 4 miles when I work. It comes present for a goal of 6000 steps and you can increase it if you want. It tracks activity, not steps. You get special spark trophies once you reach certain goals - which is an incentive if you are into that stuff. It was worth $60 to me. I check Fitbit at Target and it was $100.

No. I have a pedometer from a weight loss program I used to do, I see no need to spend money on what I already have. When the one I have breaks, maybe.

Here's a great review from a member who purchased the Spark.

Hope it provides some of the information you're looking for! emoticon

Great information! I have been on the fence about buying a fitbit, but now I am going to keep looking at the reviews for the spark device.

I had a fitbit zip that I really liked, but I always kept it clipped to my belt and one day it popped off emoticon It had actually fallen off a few times before too.

I think I'll hold off on the sparkpeople tracker and instead get a tracker that can be worn like a bracelet. I don't want to lose another one!

I just got mine today and it was really easy to set up. I am wondering if I can just put it in my pocket instead of hooking it on my belt or bra. concerned it will fall off. I also have an ipod that has a step counter on it so I will carry both for a while and see what / if there are any differences.

Hi all,

I would love to hear from the people that bought theirs a couple of weeks ago. Do you like it? Is it accurate? Is it worth the $60? Considering buying it but would like a couple of reviews from Sparkers that have used them... good and bad points?

I am considering buying one. But I know I'm going to soon be offered a good deal on a Fitbit zip as my boss wants to upgrade to the higher level Fitbit. For those who have used both, which is better?

I sent my FitBit back. I had the Flex. It was giving me too many calories burned. Besides, I like one site to track everything. I love how Spark counts ALL your nutrition data.

I am thinking about asking for one for Christmas, I am just fearful it is going to be like Apple products (which I am a fan) but I always wait a couple generations until they work out all the bugs. I feel like it would be perfect for me because 99% of my activity is walking, jogging, and hiking. Plus I like the idea that it syncs directly with sparkpeople, if I got a fitbit I would have to use a whole nother website... Thoughts?

According to Spark, it does NOT track swimming activities. The 3-star reviewer on Amazon gave it 3 stars because of that. It's water-resistant but won't track swimming.

I'm not sure why it can't track swimming, but I guess it has to do with the pedometer mechanism.

If you buy from Spark, they give you a 45-day guarantee on it.

I ordered one today with overnight shipping so I should have it tomorrow after work. I'm very excited to try it out though I do feel a little like I just dropped $60 on a trumped up pedimeter. We'll see. At this point, it can only help.

I was recently on a family vacation an my aunt wears the Weight Watchers Activity Tracker. At 150% of your daily activity goal it flashes green, by the end of the trip we would all get excited when she started flashing. I want that excitment for myself!

This morning I came across an article about the first month challenge with the SPAT, it runs from Oct 1 - Oct 31 and is sponsered by Pure Protein, now I can't find the page. Can anyone point me towards that?

I've already got a fitbit one and have figured out how to make it work for me, so am keeping that. The new spark one sounds interesting if you don't already have one. I'll be watching how it does for people.

My first fitbit wasn't, dropped it in the toilet. Didn't want to spend another $100, so I waited until the Zip was released and now the SPAT.

Checkout the FAQ, it will answer your question about the SPAT getting wet:

I would like something to use with water exercise. Anyone know anything that measures that?

9/30/13 9:59 A

So who is using one (see a few purchased and may have now)? I'm curious. I have the BodyMedia armband which I like for what it does but my skin is somewhat sensitive and I would like to have something that can get wet without fear. Just curious! :)

I just ordered mine. I'm supposed to get it Tuesday. Looking forward to a way to stay motivated. Almost bought a body bug about a year or so ago. I also had considered the braclet you wear that syncs with the iphone, I forget the name.

I feel like this is too easy not to try, after all there is a 45 day trial period.

Ordered mine today. Cost-wise, its about the same price as the "Fitbit Zip" tracker. This site is basically free, so this is my way of supporting such an incredible informative site.

I ordered one last week and it should be arriving in my mailbox today. I can't wait to use it because just as I was about to order a fitbit, the armband thing (don't remember what it was called) came out, then I got the email notice about the Spark Activity Tracker so I went ahead and ordered it. I will post my thoughts on my spark blog in a few days.

The big selling point to me is that it tracks your mileage. If it's as accurate as the Fitbit seems to be, I think it would be worth it.

I may go ahead and pre-order it. It has a 45-day guarantee so if you don't like it, you just send it back. I wonder when they will be shipping?

I don't have a smartphone, so that's out for me. I like how small this device is -- barely larger than a quarter! Good to know the Fitbit is so accurate. I may have to take the plunge and see about this :) Thanks!

There are so many different devices out there to use.. I think it's just best to stick with one of the many smart phone apps.

It sounds like it is a lot like the Fitbit One. I wish I would have known that sparkpeople was coming out with this as I would have bought it instead. If it's anything like the Fitbit One then I would imagine that is accuracy is pretty spot on. I love my Fitbit one and wear it everyday. I'd say that $60 is well worth it as I paid more than that for my Fitbit. I like that it tracks activity even when cycling which is one thing that my fitbit does not do.

BTW - forgot to say that these are pretty darn accurate. I measured my fitbit accuracy with my car and google maps. Spot on!

I remember taking a survey about this a little while ago. I am pretty sure that this was created to compete with the FitBit. I have a FitBit and I love it. If anything ever happened to it, I'd definitely look into purchasing the Spark version.

My fitbit has been a great motivator. I love seeing how many steps I can take a day and I love that it syncs my activities to Sparkpeople.

AMANDANCES Posts: 2,052

I'm just wondering who's planning on getting one. And I wonder how accurate the mileage tracker is. That's the one thing my HRM won't do, and I run all over the place, so it would be nice to know how many miles I'm getting without having to remember to map my route after the fact.

The fact sheet says, "The Spark Activity Tracker uses a 3-axis accelerometer to measure your patterns of motion. This allows the tracker to determine your total steps, activity time and speed, which is then used to calculate distance and calories burned. "

That kind of sounds like a basic pedometer. Do you think it would be more accurate and worth the $60?
