We buy frozen, boneless, skinless chicken breast at Sam's Club. They are 4 to 5 ounce portions. Very affordable.

Pick some meals from and add only the ingredients you need. My list is almost always the same, just a few special things that my recipes will need. Broccoli, Cauliflower, zucchini, bananas, nectarines, frozen spinach, bread with less than 2g sugar, peanut butter, eggs, ground turkey, frozen chicken breast.

I try to stick to whole foods like veggies, fruit, whole grains, and proteins. I try to stay away from processed foods, they are usually packed with sugars and sodium. I also suggest making out a meal plan for the week and use that to make out your shopping list, this tends to help me stay away from bad foods.
I think the biggest key is fruits and veggies with lean proteins, that seems to be what makes me feel healthiest.
Good Luck and I know you CAN do this!

Turn on the meal plan option in your nutrition tracker and create your shopping list from that. The grocery shopping list is at the bottom of the page with your nutrition tracker. Start there, get your brain and hands used to grabbing the more healthy choices and being around the more healthy ingredients. It really is a snowball effect, it'll all come!

Best of luck and CONGRATS!!!

My problem is that I don't have a clue which items are good and which are bad. I'm new to this in every way. I've never read a label on anything! Is there a detailed list of items the are good?? That's what I need!

shop only the perimeter of the store

have a list and stick to it

read labels (be careful of lots of sugars, white flour, lots of sodium etc)

shop sales for fruits, veggies, lean meats and good carbs (whole grains etc)
