I don't trust anything named "Skinny _____"

Those are generally gimmick products looking to take the money of people desperate for a magic pill solution to their weight problems.

My friend actually tried skinny fiber and lost a whole lot of weight I wanted to see if it would work first before I tried it so I am starting July first on it but she is on facebook

I don't have any trouble getting my fibre. It's usually between 30-40g a day because my diet is rich in vegetables, fruit, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds.

I prefer, as the other respondents, to get my fibre from natural sources

It's yet another mult-level marketing scheme. It's a company that doesn't make its money from the product; it makes money by recruiting people to be "distributors." They want you to pay for the "privilege" of working for them.

The product itself is just fiber. Look at their website; it looks like it has the measles because there are so many asterisks.* Each one of those goes to a statement at the bottom of the page that says, "This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose or treat any disease." In other words, the asterisk means "This sentence is a lie, but because we're selling this as a supplement, there's no law that says we have to tell the truth about anything."

Foods with lots of fiber are good for you because they also have lots of other nutrients. Fiber itself doesn't do much good, and may even do harm by causing serious diarrhea. Glucommanan, the main source of fiber in this product, has even caused intestinal blockage in a few cases.

There's no advantage for weight loss, and there's a small risk of illness or serious injury, so I would say skip it, figure out how much money you would have spent on it, and put that same amount of money to spend on exotic fruit and vegetables that you normally think are "too expensive," plus maybe some great healthy cookbooks or a magazine subscription that you've wanted for a while, and so on. Spend your money on something FUN that can also really help you lose weight, instead of wasting it on a pill that's not likely to do any good.

what is it? I believe in real food that has real fiber... pears.... raspberries, split pea soup etc
