I hope it is. I'm trying to make it special, yet it's so important to me, as hostess, to also be able to freaking enjoy myself at the same time.

Lol...I want everyone to have a great time...but more importantly...* I * want to have a great time as well emoticon

Sounds like a good party to me

I don't know - I'm now tempted to make it the full fat way - I've not decided.

I am having a bunch of people for the 4th - this might be the last time I can host a large number for an outdoor party here, I might move in the fall.

We are expecting (with me) 21 total, 7 kids ages 4-10 (I won't count 2 infants).

I am serving (so far):

* Apps: Chips, pretzels, crudités with ranch dressing and hummus
* Main: Burgers (cheese burgers), veggie burgers, hot dogs, BBQ chix with homemade sauce made nite before
* Sides: Potato salad (homemade night before) baked beans (homemade that morning), cole slaw (store bought)
* Dessert: Popsicles, this, cupcakes in 4th of July theme (possible watermelon)
* Beverages: Bottled water, ice tea, juicy juice boxes, beer, wine coolers - might do vodka spiked watermelon...not sure yet...

I wonder what the calories would be like if you used regular sweetened condensed milk and full fat whipped topping?

I will let you know how it turns out on the 4th. Going over the menu with my GF, she said her mom makes it for parties and it's a big hit, so we will see.

Greetings everyone....quick calorie count comparison:
Per 106 gram serving:
Ben and Jerries Cookie Dough full fat Ice cream: 280 calories

"Skinny" No churn cake batter ice cream: 353 calories

So count it up before you....don't....churn..........

I made this dessert and turned it into a Spark recipe. It is NOT "skinny" at all! It is actually very high calorie. My husband calculated that it has more calories per gram than Ben & Jerry's ice cream!

I will let you have the Wasa Crisp Breads, if I can have the avocado.

Strangest thing. I suddenly have this craving for banana chips. I will tell myself they are not really bananas. LOL

Trust me - that is not the only desert planned for the day. I've over 20 people expected - at least 7 kids, I'm more than sure that this one dessert will not go to waste emoticon

Since we are having quite a few over, I will be providing all sorts of foods to accommodate a wide variety of tastes - as stated in a previous post.

How long has it been since you ate boxed-mix cake? You may find that you can't eat it anymore. I used to love cake mixes, but after some time of not eating them, I lost the ability to ignore the artificial butter/vanilla chemical taste. I would strongly recommend having a back-up for the 4th celebration dessert, so you don't end up eating it anyway if it doesn't taste right anymore.

ha ha ha @ Mandie! I know - and people suggest things like portion that kinda of stuff up, and put in the freezer....and I'm like "Oh please! I can still hear things like that calling me through the freezer door, and microwaves can defrost things in a heart beat!".

I will answer too. It is really bad

lol...I'm the same way - that's why I figured for the 4th of July party.

I make cookies for Christmas, and didn't do too horribly bad with them - but then again, we had company.

Heh, I simply am not that type of person that can make a cheesecake and it just sit there all forlornly...calling my name - cause baby I will come a running! emoticon

Whenever I find a decadent recipe that I really want to try. I try to find a pot luck or party. I don't want decadent recipes sitting around the house, calling my name

@ Mandie - I also really cannot stand avocado - and it makes me feel bad - it's so good for you, and so many people love it...and I'm just like "ooooph, I have so tried with that fruit". emoticon

ETA: I'm gonna do it for the 4th - I've people coming over, and I'm gonna be serving all kinds of food; The good, The bad, and The ugly (heh, I'm a good hostess). Plus, it should be a hit with the kids ;)

Something like that would be good for the Fourth of July. It would make a nice treat.

Finally somebody else that cannot stand bananas. I thought I was all alone, here.

Long story short. I had a medical test where they stick a tube with a camera on it down your throat. They sprayed this nashty banana flavored stuff down my throat to numb and turn off my gag reflex. Tasted like banana vomit. I wasn't crazy about them to begin with, but that just pushed me over the edge.

My dad who eats a banana every day. Says I should eat them. They are good for me. I simply say. I haven't eaten a banana in 20 years, I am not going to start now.

Frozen watermelon is supposed to make a good "ice cream" as well. But I'm always afraid that it'll just make me want to make a tequila "float." (I love watermelon margaritas.) emoticon

Friends bought me an ice cream maker attachment for my stand mixer which I've stayed away from because even frozen Greek Yogurt ice cream is probably dangerous.

@ VIRGIL83 One food I cannot stand is banana emoticon

I am gonna try this as one dessert for 4th of July, though. Should be interesting !

I would absolutely try this. Sounds good to me!

6/11/14 9:56 P

I'm out :) That's a whole lot of sugar!

Is it really only 4 ingredients when it uses a packaged cake mix, and packaged whipped topping? There's gotta be a lot more than a few ingredients in those.

I make a berry "ice cream" with frozen berries, banana, avocado and spinach which is delicious.

Have you ever had banana ice cream? If you're craving ice cream, just blend frozen bananas & eat or add another topping - berries, caramel, chocolate, etc.

6/1/14 11:06 A

Just be mindful of the calories... half a box of cake mix is 800 calories, 1 tbsp of sugar free coolwhip is 10.

1/2 cup of cake batter ice cream ranges from 140 to 260 calories.

I think I'll try it!

Our paleo friends would be appalled, but it could be good.

It looks really good, but mine would not be skinny. I don't like diet soda or fat free whipped cream

Ok - is this nuts? Or am I nuts to even contemplate this?

Skinny Cake Batter No Churn Ice Cream. It may, if fact, be the easiest dessert that ever made. Only four ingredients make up this delicious dessert.

Wait....what madness is this? emoticon
