Wow, this is the latest type of desk recommended for office workers, sounds good............unless you work for someone who doesn't like to see you fooling around with your desk several minutes a day to get it "just right". There was a guy on "Today" one morning, who advertised this type of desk, but he admitted that he passed out one time because he stood too long in one place.

I would love to have one of those!

I would LOVE to have one of these and I even tried to get my husband to build me one (he's an engineer). For the time being I bought a fitness ball chair which forces you to adjust your posture regurlarly throughout the day. I love it.

I would have loved that kind of workstation when I've had some past jobs that required a lot of sitting around in front of a computer.

Mine is a manual system where you can raise and lower the monitors and the keyboard. Love it! I usually stand for half the day, alternating sitting for an hour with standing for an hour. I also have a wireless headset and walk around when I have to call into meetings. If I don't need the computer I walk the hallway.

I love the idea of this type of workstation. When I had an office job sitting for prolonged periods was definitely my least favorite part. But for me currently these wouldn't work as I'm no longer physically able to only stand for more than 5 minutes at a time. However, I'm sure it does help a lot of people every day.

They are nice! And I love standing when my backside starts getting, well, numb. emoticon

I would love to have one - I get very tired of sitting all day long, in fact I look for excuses to get up and go do something!

I don't have one of these desks. However, several employees were I work do use them. They like them quite a bit. I've seen them standing at their desks to work. Not for the entire day, but definitely in the mornings.

Actually, there is a director who works on the same floor as me. When he's in a meeting, he wears a headset and paces the floor while he talks. I figure he must be getting at least 10,000 steps at the office.

A couple of people in my building have those. I would love to try one out. I get achy from sitting all day, even with taking breaks.

Sounds like a great company to work for!

A few months ago, my department moved to our parent organization's new headquarters. The building is all fancy and such with a coffee shop, convenience store, and fitness center.

Our cubes are sit-to-stand work stations. They come equipped with buttons where you can raise and lower the desk yourself. So you can sit or stand throughout your workday. And it's nice from an ergonomic perspective because you can set it yourself to a proper height without having to call in real estate services to permanently raise or lower it to a good height.

Have you ever used this type of work station? What did/do you think? I personally like it, I guess. It's one of the few nice things about working where I do.
