We have a nesting pair of Sand Lake Cranes that come every year and lay eggs. They have never been fertile. Yesterday one hatched for the first time!

The sun is shining and it's in the mid 80's today in FL. We've had some rain as of late but it's been warm.

I noticed lawns without snow. They look beat up but they will get better as the temp goes up.

I live in southern Florida, but we still have our own sense of seasons. I feel like spring is here and want to dig into spring cleaning. I stopped wearing a sweater.

I look for forsythia buds. That always puts a smile on my face because I know in a couple of weeksI will see bright yellow along the highways and in yards.

The Red Sox are practicing in Ft Myers. That's the first sign of spring for Boston. LOL !

For something more local. Yesterday, I saw a cardinal and a woodpecker in a tree in my backyard. I've been seeing robins around too.

Today I walked a neighbour's dog as usual (normally every weekday). The sun came out and actually felt warm (ish), the dog was friskier than normal and several gardens had crocuses coming out. It felt like the first day of spring.

What are the signs you look for to know spring is here?
