It is good to have a snack within 30 to 40 minutes of a workout (especially a hard/long one). I've read this over and over here at SP.
50%Carb/30%Protein/20%Fat if I remember correctly.

If you're hungry afterwards, definitely have a snack! I often eat a banana and 10-12 almonds after working out.

I feel that a post workout snack is a good idea, especially if it was a good workout. Personally I like something with a bit of protein. One of my favorite post workout snacks is some cottage cheese with a bit of fruit thrown in.

I was curious if I should have a healthy sncak after I workout? Like fruit or such, I feel hungry after a high workout.
