I used to eat them but I dont really live close to where I can buy them anymore. I agree with the digesting them part. They pretty much go in looking the same as when they come out :S...I also found that they didnt really have much taste to them and just took on the flavor of whatever you were making it with. They are slimier then spaghetti and I imagine anyone that is bothered by textures wouldnt care for these.

I love them and eat a whole pack with a little pesto and grilled chicken. Sometimes, I'll put a little low carb spag sauce on them as well.
As to why the noodles are calorie free is simple: your body can't digest them. My body can't tolerate them, but I have heard rave reviews from others who can.
They are a great way to feel fuller, just beware that you aren't getting any nutrition out of them (other than some water and sometimes salt). Nutritionally it is the equivalent of eating styrofoam, but much tastier!
By the way, if you don't like the texture you can firm them up and make them more noodle-like by cooking them in a hot non-stick pan for a minute or so. It gives them a much better texture.

LOVE these noodles. I ordered the Miracle Noodles. they don't "act" like noodles and are a little "spongy" in taste. I made my own tomato spaghetti sauce, added cooked drained beef with seasonings and onions, then added a serving of noodles. I drain them well, boil them for 3 minutes, drain and then I cut the noodles up.... Because of the cutting needed of the noodles, I'm probably going to get the "rice" one more. the taste and texture is pretty much the same. I have added them to salads, spaghetti or other meat, veg, combination like "hot dishes" they may produce some gas, but are VERY filling and have no calories, that is true.... a Japanese root.

Does anyone have experience with these Shirataki/Magic noodles? How can they be so low in calories and carbs? Are they really an alternative to pasta and rice?? Any recipe ideas?? or do I just substitute any recipe with noodles or rice?? Your comments greatly appreciated. Just seems a little too good to be true............
