That's perfect, I just needed a ballpark... so a good guesstimate would be 1/2cup a scoop for most places...

Wow good question!

Baskin Robbins has their nutrition information online, divided into "small 2.5 ounce scoop" and "large 4 ounce scoop" - I imagine the small-scoop is the "kiddie size" and the typical scoop would be 4 ounces (1/2 cup). But I'm sure this varies by location!

is there some generalized measurement I should use when putting down ice cream from a parlor (haagen daz, 31flavors, etc)? 1/2 cup? 1/3?
