I like low fat cheese or a lean protein about 2 hours before bed. Usually when I wake the next day I'm not 'starving' hungry, and through out the day I always make sure to get adequate fats and proteins, they really keep the hunger pangs away.

Dietitian Becky has a great point, healthy eating and exercise are the only sure way to get back and stay on track. No herb or mix or pill will magically undo over eating, but getting water you need is essential. If a bit of ginger or mint helps, great!

I made it and the different taste encouraged me to drink more water. I also wanted to finish the pitcher before it went bad

Thanks so much for the information. I really appreciate it! Does anyone have good suggestions for lunches or filling snacks? I am having a hard time with that

This drink is not going to do anything to help with the fact that you ate more than you had planned over the holidays.

All it will do is add a different taste to your water.

Return to a healthy eating plan, start moving your body more.

I drink it in the Summer mainly just because I like it and it encourages me to drink more water. emoticon
The ingredients are beneficial though.

Your body does not need to be detoxed. Your body is not a toilet, it can't be flushed. The ingredients here may help you feel a bit better, but they can't do anything that plain old water can't. It might taste nice, if you like that assortment of flavors, but it will not detox anything that you've done to yourself over the holidays.

Skip the detoxes, and just focus on making healthy decisions and eating whole foods in moderation. Mind your calorie counts!

The ingredients look like a recipe to reduce bloating and settle the tummy, I haven't tried it but I think I will. Hope it works for you.

Hello all - I definitely over did it over the holidays and I found the recipe for the Sassy water detox. Has anyone tried this before? I want to know if they have seen results?

Sassy Water

2 liters water (about 8 ½ cups)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
12 small spearmint leaves.

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and let flavors blend overnight.

Drink the entire pitcher by the end of each day.
