It's super discouraging when you have major setbacks like this! I'm so sorry to hear! Give yourself time to heal and try to use this time to focus on your diet and experimenting with new healthy foods/recipes and plan out new workout plans to try when you are able to start up!

There is such a thing called muscle memory. It won't take you long to get back to where you were. The important thing is that you do get back into an exercise routine when you are cleared by your doctor. God bless!

I've had major surgery twice since I started working on weight loss. Both times I couldn't exercise at all for 4 weeks and was very limited in what I could do for 6+ weeks.
It is incredibly frustrating, but you can only do what you can do! I don't think that it set me back all that much, but it sure was irritating.
All your progress isn't gone - this is just a slight setback and you'll be back at it soon! Just remember that it's very important to heal completely so that you can be the strongest you, and when you do get to exercise again that you may have to start a little easier than where you had progressed to before.

I had ear surgery two weeks ago and then right afterwards I got a UTI and was sick for a week. Can't say I'm totally back to normal but I'm getting there. I am in a wheelchair which makes exercising interesting. I had my follow-up with my doctor about the surgery and he said he is very pleased with the progress. Then he asked if my college PE class is over. I said no, I have one more class next week. He gave me a doctor's note to give to my professor saying that he doesn't want me exercising because the ear surgery causes loss of coordination, dizziness, and loss of balance. He says I don't have a choice in the matter. I'm just really frustrated. Before the surgery I was doing great with exercise thanks to my PE class. But all of the progress I have made is gone, plus some.
