I agree that you need to get advice from a health care professional about exercise. Here are some things to think about, though. There are a lot of programs that are modified for people with health concerns. Our community center offers a class in chair yoga, for example. Here's an article about exercising with disabilities that might spark some ideas.

I also agree that given your condition, giving special consideration to your diet would be a good thing. Use the tracker to look at what you are eating. In addition to calories and fat, you can look at things like iron, which you probably need more of. Also, make sure that you are getting enough fruits and vegetables to give you plenty of vitamin C, which not only helps to absorb the iron, but may help fight infection. (Again, a health care professional may have opinions on what to eat and not eat.)

I agree with the previous poster. Because of your medical history, your doctor is the one who will need to give you advice about your exercise routine.

The good news is that when it comes to weight loss, the majority of your progress comes from what you're eating, not exercise. So even if you can't exercise as much as you'd like, you can still lose weight if you're consistently tracking your food and staying in your recommended calorie and nutrient ranges.

Hope that helps,

Coach Jen

Because you have health issues which need more qualified help, you would be best to talk with your Doctors re the exercise, and ask for a referral to a Dietitian re the nutrition aspect.

I wish you a speedy recovery. Good luck.
