The problem is, I want a small bottle so I'm not tempted to overfill it. I did buy an 8.5 oz reusuable juice box for a few bucks at the store today, but I also want one of those Lifefactory glass bottles. I just want to wait until I have something else I need or want from so I can get the free shipping with a $25 purchase. The plastic juice box should work for now though.

Why not just go to the supermarket and buy a drink bottle in your desired size? They must exist. If not, get one slightly bigger and use a measuring cup. Look for one that says leak proof, give it a whirl with water before using it for milk, and if it leaks you can return it

The shelf-stable milk boxes aren't as good as the refrigerated stuff. I'd rather use a reusable container and fill it with milk at night.

Do your local shops sell long-life UHT milk?
My supermarket stocks it, and sells them in small 250mL carton sizes.

Anarie- I considered the mason jars, but they just seem a little awkward to DRINK out of. Besides, don't the 8 oz jars hold EXACTLY 8 oz up to the very tip? I'd like something with a LITTLE bit of extra air space at least, and the 16 oz jars are TOO big. I suppose I could bring a reusable cup or something to pour my milk into (assuming I get another job at a preschool), but I'm not sure I want to bring multiple cups and containers for my milk.

Mouse- Contrary to my expanding girth, I am not pregnant. I am simply looking more into the USDA guidelines, and I think drinking more milk might be a good thing for me. I realized that, when I was younger, I drank a LOT more milk and I was also a lot thinner. I do eat Greek yogurt and cheese, but there's also something nostalgic about having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (or almond butter and fresh berries) and washing it down with a cold glass of milk.

Besides, I realized that on the days I drink milk, I tend to snack less- especially on junk food. And even though I do eat yogurt and cheese, I tend to eat them more as snacks in between meals, and I want to boost my actual meal protein without eating MORE yogurt or trying to figure out other snack options.

I re-use empty canning jars. (Like Ball or Mason brands, the kind home canners use-- they're easy to find at yard sales if no one in your family cans.) They're made to be leak-resistant, and they usually have fluid oz lines molded right into the glass.

Can I ask why you are wanting to increase your milk intake? Are you trying to increase calcium or protein? Or are you pregnant? If you want to increase calcium or protein there are other ways like packing yogurt, which I love to do. It is a bit strange for an adult to drink milk three times a day, which is why I'm asking about your reasons....even if you need more vitamin D, there are other ways to get that too...

Are there any other options? I really don't want to go out and buy 9 ounce baby food jars for milk- especially since I don't even think they EXIST.

That might be an option, however, it won't help with portion control. The whole point of packing my lunch is so I can have everything portioned out and I don't have to think about what I'm going to eat. I'd rather measure out a cup of milk the night before so it's ready to go.

Besides, I could get another job working in a preschool. I don't know yet.

If you're going to be working as a nanny in someone's home maybe you could just keep a half gallon of milk in their fridge(marked as yours).

I'm setting a goal for myself to drink more milk. I would like to start drinking a cup with breakfast, lunch, and an evening snack (like cookies and milk). On nights that I eat dinner at home, I'll also add a cup of milk with dinner. I find that I do eat a bit less when I drink milk with my meals.

I am currently in between jobs at this moment, but I have a prospective job offer within the next week or two. I plan on packing my lunch and snacks on most days (it's a nanny job) so I know exactly what I'm eating, but I need an idea of what to pack my milk in. All I know is that I want the container to be about 9-11 ounces so it holds a full cup of milk. I also want it to be leakproof so it can go in my lunch bag (but I will have a refrigerator, so it doesn't have to be insulated.

I had a 12 oz sports top bottle that I wasn't a huge fan of, so I'm looking for other ideas. Buying shelf-stable Horizon Organics milk is not an option though. I want a reusable container I can use for milk.

(I considered the Contigo Kids cups, but I find that Contigo products are impossible to keep clean, so I hesitate filling them with milk. If Tervis cups were more leakproof, I'd buy a 10 oz one with a lid in a heartbeat, but that won't work for a lunchbox. I may get one anyway though. I can always ask about buying a short cup of milk at Starbucks and transferring it to my small Tervis. That way, I can have a glass of milk with my cookie and iced tea.)
