Wow, you've done so well so far...don't let it go! When I am faced with the urge to stuff my emotions...I try to remind myself how much hard work I've put in and how much work I'll have to do to burn off what I'm tempted to eat.

Instead of using food to burn up those stressful feelings, put your tennis shoes on and go for a walk...or do some jumping jacks or anything that is physical.

I think at some point, every single member on Spark People has dealt with some type of adversity in their lives. But you know what ? the things do get better. It may not seem like it when we are stressed out, but time has a way of ironing out life's wrinkles. So, don't assume you can't lose weight or be healthy when times are difficult. You just adjust your habits accordingly.

Don't look at weight loss or good health with an all or nothing mentality. ANYTHING positive you do for yourself IS a step in the right direction even if you've ruined the whole day by eating a little more than you wanted. One less than perfect meal, one super sized fries does not make or break a person's healthy lifestyle.

There are going to be days when you eat more than others. There are going to be days you turn to food for comfort. It happens. So, you can't beat on yourself for being human. As the old song goes,"accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". Give yourself credit for the positive things you do for yourself and try not to beat on yourself if you think you do something less than perfect. No one is perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.

Moderation in all things.

So, don't worry ! Everything really does work out in the end. Think positive. Be positive !

I want to give you a BIG emoticon for your success so far. You have done an amazing job!!!

Sadly many of us give power up to others as to how we feel or should feel, but now may be the time for you to take control. A few months ago I happened to be running in my neighborhood when a car full of teenage boys passed me by and said some not so nice things about me. In the past I would have been devastated (even though I am old enough to be their mother) by this, but I just shook my head a felt sorry for them. Sometimes people have no clue as to how their behavior affects others, that being said, we have the choice to eat our emotions or to channel them into more productive means such as going for a walk.

I once read you can't eat away your troubles. And that is so true. For so many of us we are afraid to go through the emotions, but trust me, the more you go through them, you develop coping skills so that the next time you want to turn to food you don't need to. You will have developed a plan to deal with life's ups and downs and unfortunately the only way to learn this is having to go through the rough times. But look how much you will change!

You can do this!

I haven't given up, but sometimes I feel like it's not ever going to work for me. I have things in my head that sabotage me, and it's wearing me down fighting them. I know it sounds mental, but when I get attention from a male, I want to stuff myself till I'm sick. I know how crazy that sounds, but it's true. I also have family, and financial problems that make me want to eat the stress away. Anyone else dealing with this kind of thing? My hope is to succeed in my road to health, mentally as well as physically.
