It's tough not getting the help from where you hope to find it!

The blessing is that you can learn to get in touch with doing something just for you and opening up to new sources of support. I've found some amazing support from SparkPeople. Frankly, my family is either just not that into it or actually undermining.

I'm currently plodding through a longish period of not feeling motivated and not feeling much satisfaction while I'm exercising. However, there is always that little spark when I complete something. And it's a valuable experience to learn to "just do it". I believe what I'm learning about maintaining my health wil serve me in every other area of my life.

Is there anything I could do to support you?

Wishing you well.

I have told my hubby how I felt and he told me that I dont have to go in and see her all the time and that if his mom doesnt start trying to walk then she will end up in the nursing home.

I agree with Debbie - you have to take care of yourself. Let your husband know how you are feeling.

You are having very normal feelings right now. Maybe it is time to talk to husband about sharing some of the responsibilites. Let him know if you don't take care of yourself how can you take care of anyone else. Talk to mother-inlaw and let her know how you feel, just what it is doing to you. If is hard to take care of someone who won't even try to help themselves. Let her know that you need to workout for yourself each day. If she doesn't like it your hubby won't help let them hire someone to stay with her. Sounds cruel but we do have to take care of ourselves.

My motivation has been very poor these past few weeks because I am totally drained from the constant running into the hospital to see my hubbies mother. I just wish she would get up off her butt and start walking soon because it has been 2 months now and she has not even made an effort to walk. I get tired of not being able to do my fitness because of her.

I know I should show her some compassion but the way I see it, I do everything for her and my hubby doesn't care about me and what I need to reach my goal to loss weight. Am I wrong to want what I need or should I be more considerate of her and what is best for her.

I want to be able to go to the gym more but I know I can't. Only if I had the money to have what I want then I would be able to do what I want when I want.

My goal has changed now. I want to loss 130 lbs now but will settle for losing the 100 lbs for now. So far I am down to 224 lbs and when I get depressed it goes back up to 229.5lbs which stinks. I eat a healthy breakfast everyday as well as a healthy lunch and dinner and try and leave the desserts alone.

Hi, the gym I go to does offer Zumba Classes and I am part of it. I have invited one friend to join me in my Zumba fitness but she has to wait until she is feeling better before coming over.

Good Luck. You can do it. Think about small goals and then move on after you have reached one.

AWWWW Thank you everyone. You all are the best. I have never known that friendship with people I have never met could be possible. I am working towards starting the new year off on the right foot this time and I plan to be in here more in the new year. 2012 will be the best year I have every had. I know now that I am the only one who can motivate me. I have to support myself because my family is not going to help me with ,
I will be starting January off by doing the following routine each day

January 1,2012-------Getting up at 9 am
eating breakfast at 9:30 am
Doing an hour worth the workout
Lunch at 12 pm
Workout at 1 pm
Light snack

Dinner will be with my mom and family

Coming home and relaxing for about an hour then doing Zumba for 1.5 hours then having a hot bath by 11pm

If I can do this every day then I will start to see the weight come off.

Yes you will succeed if you have faith and determination. If you don't like the gym right now, your basement effort is wonderful. Stay on the positive side and do what you can. Take care and Good Luck.

You have to do this for your own HEALTH. Your family can't do this for you.

Merry Christmas. YouTube has a lot of good Zumba videos. emoticon

Hi, Eshara43 here once again.

I am starting this off once again. My heart is not into my goal right now because my family isn't giving me the motivation and support I need anymore. I have not gone for a walk or to the gym in over 2 weeks now. I do manage to walk around my house for few times a day but its not enough to get my fitness minutes to where I had them before. I feel so alone in this journey right now because in my heart I know I can do this but in my mind I know I cannot. I have tried everything I can to get there but have failed.
So in the new year I am going to set a new goal to reach a total of 12000 fitness minutes before I head for surgery., I have tried to get into the gym and I know I will be able to get in on Tuesday because I dont care what my hubby says anymore. My body and mind wan to get that great workout in again. When I first joined the gym I was going every tuesday thursday and Saturday and then after awhile I was lucky to go once a week. But now I don't get in at all.
I have downloaded some Zumba music and have been doing Zumba in my basement 3 times a week but I am going to start doing that everyday until February. My heart might be in that by then. I know I am on the right track when it comes to eating right everyday. I bought the Spark Cookbook and I have tried the Egg-White Omelet with Spinach and Mushrooms. I can say that I love it because it is packed with a lot of protein and vitamins that my body needs.
I am going to get my butt in gear and get this fat off my body before my 44 birthday and no matter what anyone says I know I will succeed.
