The fact that the first things the news stations like to say is how much activity she does and how much she has done to lose weight continues the bullying. This woman is clearly just fine as she is - and the bully who now wants to say more to HELP? I am ashamed of anyone who would give that thing a platform. he needs to crawl back into the hole where he was.

I saw the clip the other day and was amazed at how articulate and professional she stayed during the entire segment. She didn't make excuses, she didn't give platitudes. She had a point, and she was able to make it with the help of her employers, which I thought was amazing of them as well.
I admired her for her response to him...she is a class act!

There are so many MORE things to worry about than being OBESE!!!!!! WHYYY do people focus on it like it's the worst thing in the world?! That poor woman! God bless the person who sent her that hate mail, because they need to focus on more important things in life!
I saw a video about her talking about it being the month to end bullying and how unacceptable the letter she received was. I personally thought she was beautiful and didn't even notice that she had weight issues. I believe that consciousness needs to be raised that it is not acceptable to bully people who are overweight. The problem is that we are so visible. I think she was wonderfully courageuos to bring the topic out of in the open and I hope it willl lead to many discussions.

It's that double standard that gets me all the time. It's not ok to make fun of someone for a disability, their race, color, creed, lifestyle, etc. but it's fair game to pick on people because they are overweight?! I don't think so. She is in the media and more people will see her and I know they will judge, but like others have said, just because it happens doesn't make it right.
The anchor made valid points, she knows she is overweight or has some weight to lose, and most overweight people are VERY self aware and don't need other people to tell them they are overweight.
I'm proud of Mrs. Livingston for standing up for what is right.

It's ridiculous some people are so cruel and ignorant in this world. I am glad she stood up for herself with dignity.
She did great! Shoved his foot deeper up his butt.

Yes she had an awesome response loved it, but it's a shamel the viewer could focus on only was her weight. But at the same time when you put yourself in a career to be in the public eye, your always up for scrutiny. It's not right but just the way things are and even though most people here are understanding most people outside of weight loss boards and groups and meetings aren't always as understanding and realizing about weight problems as us. I'm glad she dealt with the situation with dignity.

I just watched this, and I thought she was really classy. A lot more classy than the person who sent the e-mail, knowing that he/she wouldn't have to suffer the discomfort of saying it to her face.
I agree she did an excellent job replying back to the coward, we do need to take a stand against bullying and picking on people for their weight. Kudos for her and the station for saying something and not sweeping it under the rugs.

I seen that and at first thought I was on the wrong station (it was channel 8 in the background and I watch 3).
I think she is right. Being fat or obese is not always controlable. That man did not look at her frame or how she is shaped. I do not have the hollow triangle space between my crotch and legs. I will never have that...it is not my shape.
I wore a size 12 on top when I was a teenage weighing 115 lbs. Only a boob reduction would have gotten me to a smaller size.
I also don't like Rush Leinbaugh and them saying 'get a job'. I just got one no OT, no benefits & at a$7.50 hr. How am I to support myself let alone 2 kids? I have a degree but when there are no jobs.....
She did a great job wording her reply. I saw her on the morning show that has Gayle King. She spoke her mind well without blaming or cursing.
I saw the clip online this morning. I so, glad that she responded publicly on the issue. It's about time that we stand a stand against these cowards who think they have a right do and say what they feel against anyone they consider, not the norm in this world. Kudos to her and her employer.

KUDOS to this woman for speaking up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and KUDOS to the station for letting her!!!!!!! I'm sorry I don't need to be watching a size 2 to get my weather or news, I don't care what size the person is as long as they can do the job! Why didn't this person show a picture of himself? So, she could judge him/her!
I am not saying it is right, but media does have an image it likes to maintain. We have made strides in acceptable appearances over the years. Women can now wear slacks, Cindy Crawford with her mole, Elle being a plus size model. In the DC area, reporters are shown at the waist or the chest depending on how much weight they gain or lose. Just like many of the male anchors wear hair pieces.

I saw the anchor, Jennifer Livingston, on Good Morning America this morning. She and her husband both work for the same news station and they were both being interviewed. Apparently she received a really rude letter from a viewer about her physical appearance.
It's just a shame that she's being blasted for her size. On Good Morning America she mentioned she has a thyroid issue, is a mom of 3 children, but still exercises 2-3 times a week and did a 5k for charity last weekend. She was completely professional, a class act throughout the interview. Good for her!
