I am doing the Ruby 90 day challenge and that is very different for me. Also, I am here on SparkPeople and it makes me motivated. (And no weighing in constantly...once a week only emoticon

I think the new goal is completely realistic!
Plus, it's similar to my goals.
Obviously I have that long term goal, but then tonight I broke that long term goal into multiple smaller goals.
I think by breaking up your goals, they become more obtainable and you are more likely to stick with it.

Not at all. If you have to break it down to 10lbs every 6months to keep on track then DO IT! No reason to stress yourself out. The stress will just prevent you from reaching the goal. Emotionally and Physically! Congratulations on finding a solution to the dilemma that works FOR YOU.

I recently had a major setback & a melt down over it . I did get some caring advice from sparkfriends.
It seems that my "falling off the weight loss wagon" has a pattern to it. Always about the halfway point of my goal it seems to fall apart. Some suggestions were to figure out what psychological issues are holding me back & not to beat myself up over it. I appreciated the advice. I did, however come to a different conclusion.
While I agree with not beating myself up over a mistake, I learned that I can use my anger as a tool. I was just angry enough to really push for a solution.
So, I have come up with a new plan. Even though my goals were not unrealistic, I have had ADHD most of my life. So, sometimes even easy tasks need to be broken down even further. I have decided to aim for 10 lbs at a time in about 2 month (8 week) spans.
If anyone disagrees & thinks that this goal is not realistic please let me know. But I'm feeling much better about this now. I just need baby steps.
