I just want to say good luck and keep it up! When I first started losing weight I thought it would start coming off quickly because I was so heavy. But in the first month of working out 5-6 days a week and making diet changes, I only lost 1/2 lb! Discouraging, but I was determined. Another month later, 1/2 lb. Then the next month I lost 3 lbs and I went down a size. So it's possible to only lose a few and shrink esp if you work out regularly. Anyway, keep it up. I've lost about 100 lbs and have kept it off for 2 1/2 yrs. I still have another 20 I want to lose. It's a slow process for me but ultimately I'm happy with my energy levels. I hope you find everything you need!

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.

A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.

2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

Hi all! I'm 29 years old and over the last 3 years have gradually gained weight or maintained despite using WW and exercising regularly (3-5 days per week for 30-75 minutes per time), I've struggled. I recently was put on a mild dose of thyroid medicine, but I don't think it's been long enough to notice a difference. Funny thing is, despite only losing about 3 pounds in the last 2 months, I'm wearing a size smaller in pants and many of my clothes are too big. Also, people have been asking if I'm losing weight. I don't feel like it's been enough for anyone to notice, and definitely it hasn't been "fat to muscle" so I don't know what gives. I'm committed to continuing to work out and eat right despite my weight. I currently am 5'8" and 195 and am looking forward to getting to my goal weight, somewhere between 165-175. My mantra is my goal weight is that which I can maintain while being happy and living with balance. That's me in a nutshell. TIA for support! :)
