TY :) I do plan on exercising. Just not at the moment because other things in the house that need done are things i have also been wanting to change. My son and his family will be visiting from Germany this summer and I really want the house to reflect my excitement of their visit. Devoting a couple weeks to house upkeep will make me happy along with keeping me busy and out of the kitchen. I also have already bought things to improve and refresh the outside this spring like paint, fence, seeds I used to be more active with that type of thing and want to start back in that good habit. I was a farmers daughter and was used to nonstop activity not exercising, I want get back to that way of life if i do i think i will be more likely to succeed. I think we should all use what we have to the fullest and I have not done that as well as I could. I am lucky I have land in the country that could keep me busy forever if I let it. I made a short list of goals to start with and I hope i can share the completion of them as well as my weight loss here with you all.
GOAL LIST Sort, clean, repaint & decorate spare bedroom Put up 500 feet of fence Re-mulch flower gardens Make a small veggie garden Re-paint the chicken coop and duck pen Re-stain the decks LOL That should keep me busy for the next 2 1/2 months
Dot, I'm reading Richard Bernstein MD "The Diabetes Diet" and learning so much. I'm 63 and have Metabolic Syndrome/Insulin Resistance but not full Type 2 diabetes yet. He says ALL obese people are Insulin Resistant. He has been a Type1 Diabetic since age12 and he is 78 now. He says we need to weight train and build as much muscle as possible as it helps regulate blood sugar. He has lectures on Youtube that are really helpful. Most of his practice deals with obese people needing to lose weight and deal with pre-diabetes or Type 2. I've learned so much from him.

I woke with a strong commitment Friday and joined SP. So far I have done very well sticking with 1,200 cal a day. I decided to only weight in on Fridays mornings so I can't wait for Friday to see how I'm doing. Like you all I am terrified of slipping up and I'm hoping that being on here and talking with others in the same boat will help keep me strong. I have also decided not to exercise yet. First I wanted to make a list of things/goals around the house that need to be done. I have a extra bedroom that I never did any thing with that has become a catch all so when my regular house work is done instead of watching TV I have been sorting threw it. When I am done with that I will paint and decorate it. I figure it will take me a couple weeks.
