Join a Spark Team or two based on your own goals, interests, hobbies, etc. Click on the COMMUNITY tab and then click on Spark Teams. Enter something that pertains to you in the SEARCH box and chose a team or two of the list of teams that come up. You'll make Spark friends that will give you support, insight, and encouragement on your journey Just take it one day at a time, one step at a time.

Welcome to Spark People. There is so much information available to you here. There are teams that you can join that offer support, inspiration and motivation with members of pretty much any interest that you may seek. The food & fitness trackers are invaluable sources at your disposal. There are articles that cover pretty much any topic that you can imagine. Spark people members share blogs that offer you a glimpse at their experience, strength and hope and gives you a look at their perspective. There are health articles and a vast health encyclopedia, if you will, to help you with all manner of physical health issues. There are even games to help you get involved and meet new friends. This is a wonderful positive community of people, like yourself, who want to work their "weigh down" the scale on the path to better health and happiness. Jump in and get involved. I find that the more active I am, the more I get out of it for myself. It's sort of like "paying it forward" and reaping benefits from the backwash! I am so happy that you are here. Thanks for the encouragement and motivation......I am sure the help is there. I am on the track and intend to follow through. As we grow older, the weight seems to pack on more.....I lack the exercise in the winter and my body doesn't tolerate a physical workout. But I hope I can take walks fox terrier will help me, I am sure. :) emoticon

Hi emoticon and congratulations on beginning your Spark journey!

There's so much here to help you along the way and excellent advice to setting and achieving healthy goals. With the thousands and thousands of fellow Sparkers you will always find someone you can connect with. I am always amazed how many lives have been changed for the better through the use of SparkPeople.

If you have not already done so, I suggest that you check out the videos in the "Healthy Lifestyle" section. Scroll down for the site orientation videos.

That should point you in the right direction. I find that if you just start looking around Spark, you will quickly learn about the wonderful tools available for your use. After being a Sparker since 2007, I still find something new and very useful.

So thrilled to join the team at I just heard about this website at the beauty shop yesterday. I had just joined WW this week but plan to cancel my membership in a few weeks. My grand daughter also joined WW but I am going to get her on this website also. I am impressed with all the information available and all of the tracking to keep up to date on my progress.

I live in the country and don't see many people in the winter especially. The winter is the hardest time for me to refrain from gaining weight. I generally gain 10-15 lbs each winter but summer gives me more activity and gardening is my passion. So, I try to get the extra weight off then. I am now at 20 lbs. overweight, so I have got to get busy!
