That was awesome of him, good hearted and I'm glad to see not all cops are bad. That he had compassion and understanding towards another human being.

That is great, if all legit and on the up and up.
(Generally there are way too many time-clock punchers, and those sorts, are no ones' finest.)
Genuinely generous folks are in much too short a supply but very much appreciated - IMHO.
I saw that on the news this morning too, it brought tears to my eyes.

While my son was living going to a 3D Animation school, he used to travel in the bus to and from home. Twice, on particularly wet days, he gave his umbrellas to people who didn't have a coat and were going to get drenched when they got off the bus. He didn't know them from a bar of soap. I was a bit miffed because I had bought them for him and were supporting him but couldn't afford it. He just said that their need was greater than his at the time, because his school was right beside the bus stop. He was 18 at the time.

I just saw it on Channel 2 news here in Chicagoland, made my eyes water!
I love love love Random acts of Kindness!!!

I watched the news this morning and saw such a wonderful act of kindness... it was a New York policeman bent over a barefooted homeless man... he asked the man his shoe size went into a store and bought him a pair of 75 dollar boots and gave it to him to keep his feet warm from the cold... I saw this and thought WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE GETS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It made me cry cause in this world we need more people like this everyone is busy with their toys (computers, I phones, facebook, whatever) and this guy gets it! It's something I'd of done had I seen this poor person out in the cold even if I had to spend my last dollar and it just brought tears to my eyes, because it's rare to find people that care!
