I know exactly how you feel. Not about the parent thing but the eating through the upheaval thing. I think food is my drug of choice. But at least a cocaine addict isn't told that while he has to give up his addiction he has to have small doses of it three times a day or die!

I have the perfect diet tool. But it still won't protect me from myself. At the end of the day I'm the one who has to look into the mirror and change myself. Guess what I'm saying is since you can't change your parents..maybe you need to change how you react to them. It sounds way easier than it is but in the end it'll be worth it.

Don't expect miracles at first. But work at it and you'll find peace. I've got a great place for you to check out if you want. Spark mail me and I'll give you the addy. I'm not sure I can do that in an open forum. But it might help.

I am certainly am an emotional eater, and wow, today was tough. Let's just say I didn't get to pick my family, but for some reason God decided they were right for me. I am an adult, but it is amazing how even though I live miles away, have my own husband and children, I can still be brought to tears after a conversation with my parents! I did well today though, I fought the temptation to eat through my emotions. I am not quite sure how I did it. I was looking forward to posting that I stuck to my meal plan today, so maybe that was it...having the feeling of reaching a goal.

Today has been a day of disappointments.....I lost my cell phone & there is no chance I'll be getting anywhere near an interview for the job I so deparately wanted. The first thing I wanted to do was go down to the cafeteria here at work and eat something fatty and fried. My challenge to myself today is to work through the sadness and desire to eat bad bad things. How do you do it? emoticon
