This year, I'm a little cash strapped; so I just got my Mom a nice card and printed a best Mom cert. from my computer.

Gave the same things to my Dad for Father's day too, though that's in June, but I didn't bother waiting, I gave them everything earlier!

I send flowers for my Mom, who turned 100 in February, she lives rather far away. We drive down to husband's mother, she will be 84 the day before Mother's Day, so she gets a gift card for her Birthday, and a meal out, which she loves. Otherwise I send a gift card to our daughter in law, who is a Mom of a 2 yrs. old, the only grandchild we will ever have. That's it.

I always do something for my mother. I've tried different things, but what she always seems to enjoy most is a Barnes & Noble gift card because she's an avid reader and goes through Nook books VERY quickly.

I got my mother a Pandora Bracelet.

I don't buy presents for my parents for Christmas - Mother's/Father's day and birthdays.

I will be happy if my kids all call me on Mother's Day. Usually, my son who lives a bit closer, treats me at a traditional Mother's Day Chicken BBQ, but this year he will gone as he is driving semi.

My husband and I have agreed from the start that we are not each other's mother/father so we do not give gifts, etc. to each other on that day. Both of us have lost our mothers (and fathers) so really, It makes me a little sad that I don't have a Mom to even buy a card for.

Breakfast in Bed and a homemade card from the kids is the tradition in our house. For my mom we plant her flowers and I usually buy her clothes. I love to spoil my mom as long as I can! without her i wouldn't be here :)

Our mothers are both long gone but our 5 sons will do a great job of remembering their mom.

I don't need any special gift -although it is always nice to get a hanging basket. My daughters let me know throughout the year that they love me.

A card is usually sufficient.
Now that my children are away from home; a phone call is sufficient.

Guess our family has never made a BIG deal about mother's day.
sometimes a special meal; other times just a card will suffice.

If you are one that buys gifts for this special occasion rather it is a book or a dinner out etc. who do you buy for? I buy for my Mom and for my oldest daughter who is a Mom. I spend more on my Mom and just get a little cute something for my daughter. What about you?
