I'm so sorry Sue. I don't know you, but I wish I could have been there to hold your hand and tell anyone watching to just go inside. I hope you're okay now.

i am so sorry you had to be scared to death. To be humiliated as well. But you can hold your head and know that you have neighbors right here that will support you in your success and well even if you have a few set backs we will still believe in you. God Bless and keep strong. emoticon

So sorry you had to experience the scare to your health and the embarrassment to top it off. Sometimes we're given those situations to challenge us. It's your choice how you respond from here so give it your best and move forward!

Besides, even if you weighed 90 pounds and were carted off in front of neighbors, they'd have something to say. People just like to talk and especially about things that scare them. They try to come up with reasons it happened so they can distance themselves from that being in their own reality. I'm sure there are many that you are close to and only cared for your health. The rest don't matter.

Suzy - I hope you did not have a stroke and that you are OK now. I know you were embarrassed. Please consider that many watchers were just concerned for you.

And congrats on that awesome weight loss. Keep up the good work. You are not alone on this journey.

I am sorry that you had to go through that, it indeed was humiliating. I've had some instances like that myself and i have seen my mother go through several herself. I have felt so ashamed sometimes. I just want you to know that you ARE NOT alone!

Hi Sue,

My heart goes out to you. It sounds like that was a very difficult experience for you. I know it is difficult. But remember where you've come from and remember your strengths. You are on your way to better health. You are using SparkPeople to reach out, and get the support you need to be successful in your weight loss. And remember your goals. What got you started in this? What can you do today to get one step closer to that goal? And remember that some days are more difficult than others, but there is a community of people here to support you.

Some motivational quotes from SparkPeople's website:
"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do"
"There are plenty of obstacles in your path. Don't allow yourself to become one of them."
"A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor"
"If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you."
"Life is too short to spend it hating your body."
"Believe in yourself"
"The body achieves what the mind believes."

I always wonder when I am sitting and watching these disaster movies,,you know,,where there is an earthquake and you have to climb up a pile of stuff and out a tiny little window,,,or in a fire and you have to climb out these tiny openings,,,how would I ever be able to do that??? Well I kind of got a taste of that last Monday...I was having really b ad dizzy spells, my right arm was going numb and I was having stabbing pains in the base of my skull,,so I called the hospital to ask them what they thought and they said to call an ambulance right away cuz it sounded like it was a stroke, so I called them.
When I called them I told them I was a very large person (was 425 but am 398 now), What do they do???send an ambulance to 2 small women. When they realized they would not be able to get me in without help they called a second ambulance with 2 men which had to come blowing the sirens... So all 4 of them are try to lift me and the gurney into the ambulance and I have the whole neighberhood standing around watching,,,I wanted to die right on the spot. I am so frustrated,,,just another humiliating thing about being FAT. I know I should not be so down on myself but I am so sick of this,, it is hard enough to live with everybody looking at you and pointing but to have to deal with something like that too,,,it really hurts.
