Hi emoticon and congratulations on beginning your Spark journey!

There's so much here to help you along the way and excellent advice to setting and achieving healthy goals. With the thousands and thousands of fellow Sparkers you will always find someone you can connect with. I am always amazed how many lives have been changed for the better through the use of SparkPeople.

If you have not already done so, I suggest that you check out the videos in the "Healthy Lifestyle" section. Scroll down for the site orientation videos.

That should point you in the right direction. I find that if you just start looking around Spark, you will quickly learn about the wonderful tools available for your use. After being a Sparker since 2007, I still find something new and very useful.

Welcome and best wishes!

Hi, everyone. My name is Anne, and with the exception of a few years in exotic places like Germany, Missouri, and Portland, Oregon, I've always lived in the Midwest.

At age 32, I've been struggling with my body and my weight for as long as I can remember. I've been overweight since I hit puberty, but in the last seven years, I've been in the obese range for my weight, and I'm not happy living there. This year especially, I've felt more awkward and uncomfortable in my body than ever before. I don't like feeling breathless doing simple things. And I don't like feeling like I never look good in my clothing. I would love to be able to wear clothing that isn't from the plus size department.

If I could figure out how to eat less and exercise more with consistency, I know I could lose weight. I actually enjoy exercising, but I don't do it enough. I also love to eat, and I don't like diets, so I am trying to learn how to eat fewer calories without noticing that I'm doing so. My goal is to lose weight without going hungry. I want to feel good; I don't want to feel deprived. Currently, I'm just starting to track my food and exercise here on SparkPeople. I'm curious to see how it goes. Thanks for letting me introduce myself. I would love to hear your advice about how you continue to work on weight loss day after day. Sometimes the one-day-at-a-time thing is a challenge.
